The trade deadline is today and Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones said on The Fan this morning that he won't be doing any dealing.
Moments before last year's deadline, he swung a deal with Detroit for Roy Williams on the same day Adam Jones was suspended by the NFL.
"We won't be doing any trading today," Jones said.
And Jones said he has no regrets about the Williams' deal either, despite Williams' lack of stats, the $45 million contract and the first- and third-round picks the Cowboys gave up.
Jones said he looked at the third-rounder as a chance for Williams to play for the Cowboys last season and the first rounder to get him for this season. The teams swapped sixth and seventh round picks, which Jones considered a wash.
"I'm glad we got him because we got where we want to be - a young wide receiver in Miles Austin on the way up and a chance to stretch the field," Jones said, "and then Roy Williams as your No.1 receiver with a chance to have a great year because of how hard he's been working."
