Interesting. That would change my opinion 180.

Do you have any sources, or is this just your opinion?

I think it was pretty well documented in that thread about Ellis' Sirus radio interview he did the day Owens was released. If I'm not mistaken he made mention of the fact that he was pulled on 1st and 2nd downs and felt he could have been used more in order to help the team.

My opinion based on the whole body of Greg's comments and the way he's acted the last couple of years. Mac Engel said Greg wants out of here, and has for a while. For some reason, he refuses to accept that he's getting older and slowing down. He still thinks he can start and play everydown for someone. And I think they don't want his backstage complaining when the team reduces his role.

If he had a great attitude and accepted his role behind Spencer without complaint, I can't see why they wouldn't bring him back.

I'm going to say it again.

This is a stupid move to not have Ellis on the team in 09 IMO
agreed and even more stupid to broadcast that he does not fit into your plans. rebuilding in 2009. others dont see it yet.

How long before Washington signs him?

They need a starting DE. Ellis is LIGHTYEARS ahead of Phillip Daniels.
