Keep it in perspective though. This has been an unusual rash of injuries at that position and they are not season threatening. Austin may be back mid September. Hurd's ankle sprain although problematic may not be as severe and he could be back in a few weeks as well.

We may have some offset with three receiving oriented tight ends (Witten, Bennet, Curtis) and a quick and versatile RB in Julius Jones who is a very good receiver.

Quincy Morgan is out there somewhere. They could also trade Tampa for either Antonio Bryant or Joey Galloway.

I am sure they could also get their hands on Skyler Green and Zuriel Smith if they really wanted.

All those are guys that Romo has worked with in the past.

I think J. Garrett should be studying film from last yr, time period when TO was out with the high ankle sprain...........he's got to be able to come up with a packages that put the offense in position to succeed (age old coaching addage i know).........but he went thru the time period, the Boy's' struggled....he's gotta adjust

......if, that is, he is such a offensive guru........bring in the San Fran pik system in the passing game, see alot of other teams push that rule to the max......more motion from the others that frees up TO also,

I see a little of the west coast with felix, Cricket will be a good option, lets see the "vaunted" 2 TE sets......

Same thing as last year but it was cbs that brought us down,we always have a glaring weakness.JJ wont fix it so we suffer.Always a few steps behind.Now we have 32 great cbs and no wrs.lol.

but.... that is not going to happen so... Amendola makes the team and will play in the 3 WR sets versus Cleveland. He is the best of the bubble WR's in the slot and this is his door of opportunity.

One other thought. On some WR sets you put Newman out wide and Crayton in the slot. Newman had worked with the offense in the past, I would not put it past them to stick him in there. Stanback is your 4th WR for the day if he is not put on IR that is. I think with his shoulder issue he could at least make a few plays but I think if that is your plan you might as well just take 3 active WR's to the game.

I think we will see a huge amount of 2 TE sets and base offense in week 1. We can be very successful with that offense so I am not that worried about it as long as Crayton,Witten and Owens stay healthy.

Expect a lot of MArion Barber and Felix Jones and a power running game a lot like the playoff game against NY!

I'm guessing some of these fans had the exact same worries in the nineties when we had a couple of great seasons with a third reciever named Corey Fleming and a fourth reciever named....oh, yeah, no one probably remembers.

The game was different. It wasnt a spread out offensive league. Teams didnt have as many good corners. It was more of a physical league still.

Now you have to be solid and deep at corner and wr because of the nature of the game.

ANd our 3rd wr was kelvin martin until kevin williams was drafted. Not a big deal but he could play. That team did what this team will do, throw to the backs more, especially the fullbacks.

We will be fine short term as long as these guys are back by green bay. IF it lingers longer than that teams will shut down owens and witten. We can still win but september is going to be tough.

Jerry is learning. Don't overreact. There are 3 receivers out of your top 5 coming back in less than a month, Dallas will be fine.

Are you serious? No we will not be fine. so whos our #3 WR now? i don't even know. This is a dumb move by JJ if hes gonna use the logic, that he does not wan't anybody that has not worked with romo. Guy needs to wake up and smell the coffee. as a matter a fact i don't even think PC is a real #2 WR.

Jerry can not be this dumb.if he goes into this season with only 2 real recievers ready, we are in trouble folks.it's just unreal Jerry is this stupid. O Well!

I think we will make the games prove this theory. I think we will need one soon.
