Jerry: You go, Romo!!!

romocma.jpg

Jerry won't be joining the playa-hatin' masses whining about Tony Romo's high-profile romances and celebrity activities.

On the contrary, Jerry is all for his franchise quarterback enjoying life in the spotlight. He sees all the Miss Universe pageants and gossip-column mentions as free marketing for the Cowboys.

"We all want Tony to be everything he can be on the field," Jerry said. "But, from my perspective, I like his colorfulness off the field. That's good for the Cowboys. That's good for football.

"There's an element here of some entertainment that's involved. Now, you have to back it up with action."

Jerry said Romo's personality and his "heritage" (Romo's father is Mexican-American) figured into the Cowboys' decision not to draft Brady Quinn. In other words, Jerry expects those No. 9 jerseys to keep flying off the racks.

Blame the writer. He makes it sound like there's a link between Romo's heritage and the Cowboys not drafting Quinn. What he meant, I guess, is that Latinos might identify with Romo and buy more Dallas jerseys, but mentioning Quinn in the same breath makes it sound like Jerry put jersey sales above the Cowboys future. I'm sure Jerry believes that Romo is the real deal or he believes that Romo at least deserves one more season to prove that he is.

HHHHMMMMM, let me see. We've had two oil men own the team, who went to 8 super bowls and won 5. Those DAMN oil men.

I'll start to worry the next time a banker buys the team(although Bum was in oil as well).

It's the end of the world as we know it.

Here's a concept- the brighter the star shines, the higher this team has always seemed to be propelled. Momentum gets built.

This is not a coincedance. There is method to this madness, just too bad most of you can't see it. And many of you call yourselves Cowboy fans? It's like one of the concepts this team has followed since it became America's Team.

What do you think this is just a football team like say the Bengals or the Cardinals? No. We're the Dallas Cowboys. And just like with our quarterback, we too as a team are the Paris Hiltons of the football world. Famous simply for being famous. And just like with her, as long as we keep shining bright there will be chance of us hitting gold once in awhile. Or atleast a whole lot better chance then some team built around a loser mentality.

In fact, why don't we try it some of your guy's way.. Continue to tell Romo what a loser he is for not concentrating fully on football and see how well that ends up for us once he starts listening. Jerry is taking the only approach to this that he can. The worst thing he could do would be forcing Romo to question his life choices when he's really made none of a questionable nature as of yet. Yea, that would be smart, trying to fix something ebfore we even know if it's broken. Atleast give the guy a chance to screw up. Maybe he never will.
