The problem with winning is your competitors tend to try to walk off with anything or anybody that isn't lashed down.

Most of Dallas' moves recently have been solid if not golden. I think they will emerge form the loss of Ireland just fine.

Jerry Jones said the Cowboys have no plans to add anybody to the front office before the draft. And they might not ever replace former VP of college and pro scouting Jeff Ireland now that he's left to take the Miami GM gig.


Jerry pointed out that he has a director of college scouting (Tom Ciskowski) and a director of pro scouting (Brian Gaine) still on the payroll.


"So I don’t know that we need to replace Jeff," Jerry said.


Funny, I was under the impression that the job Ireland did around these parts was pretty important.

That last line is priceless, IMHO

I wonder how Jerry and the Boys work it so that Ireland doesn't reveal secrets of who Jerry was looking to draft? I know it's early... but I am sure Jerry had his staff has favorites that could effect the draft if someone else knew who his favorites were.

I know about the whole clause for when you leave a company to go to another one... but I don't see where one could be written up to really hide this info and be accountable.

Did Jerry ever go back and say that Ireland had to stay until after the draft... or was that taken back?
