Cowboys receiver Miles Austin drew double coverage for the first time against the Eagles.
Although he was limited to just one catch, his ability to beat that coverage resulted in a game-breaking 49-yard touchdown pass from Tony Romo with 8:04 left in the fourth quarter.
``Miles only had the one catch, but he really was open quite a bit,'' coach Wade Phillips said. ``They jammed him at the line. They doubled him some, which we hadn't seen. A lot of times he was open, but it wasn't the read Tony had.
``I feel good about him being consistent in that he's running good routes and is hard to cover. Hopefully, we'll hit him some more times when he has those openings.''
With breakaway speed and crisp route running, Austin has added a dynamic dimension to Dallas' offense. His success can be measured in his big-yardage games against Kansas City and Atlanta (421 yards, four TDs) as well as his one-catch, one-touchdown performance against Philadelphia.
``I don't care if he's making one play or 100 plays, if you're making the play that counts, you're going to be the guy,'' Eagles cornerback Ellis Hobbs said. ``He deserves every accolade that he's getting right now. He's proving it every day.''
Romo has a variety of options with big-play potential. He connected with seven players for 21 receptions and 307 yards against the Eagles, who ranked 10th in the NFL in pass defense.
Roy Williams had his breakout game with five catches for 75 yards. Patrick Crayton went 64 yards on reception. Rookie Kevin Ogletree took two screens for 38 yards, and tight end Jason Witten made the clutch first-down catch to seal the victory.
``Whatever the defense dictates, that's where we're going to go with the ball,'' Romo said.
