I don't know about a back problem, but that would be a red flag.

Then again, I remember hearing the same thing about John Henderson before his draft.

Speaking of Brace:

He also had an interview with one of the Worchester newspapers that he stated that we were impressed with his footwork.

Again, I don't think he makes it until our choice. He's getting an awful lot of buzz and several teams are starting with the 3-4 this year as well.

Yhea, the only reason I mention is that both sites mentioned injuries, though one specifically mentioned his back.

But you're right, I do remember the same was said concerning Henderson, except with Brace, it's been flagged quite early.

That said, I don't know the extent of the problem and if it's really that serious. Thought I'd just mention it and see if anyone else has heard the same.

cut owens and sign Austin. Witten, Williams, Austin would be a good starting trio.

If I'm Jerry..this is a tough decision if I was offered Washingtons 2nd rounder for Miles. I think this guy could really contribute as the # 2 for RW in years to come...but then...

having two 2nd rounders could get Brace and Sean Smith....ahhhh..the possibilities are endless!!

As much as I like Austin, I think he's already pretty much set into the greatest role he'll ever play for us. He'll most likely always be backing up someone here in Dallas. We get rid of TO, I wouldn't be the least surprised if we replaced him with another big name WR right away. After all, two primed WRs is what Jerry has always yearned for since the loss of Harper along Irvin. Now that he's finally got it I don't see him letting go of that for quite sometime. Exit TO, enter Player X.

As a clear-cut #3 though, I like him. And personally I'd rather be getting rid of Crayton if it came down to the two of them.

I'm not a big fan of being a farm team for other clubs. You find and develop talent, hold onto it. It won't break the bank so I think its a must that he be in Dallas for at least another year.

The Dolphins have two second rounders. They have the 44th pick and pick number 56, I think. I don't see Parcells giving up number 44 for any WR. He might flirt with number 56, but he has options at WR in the draft. I think it's smoke.

The Cowboys will protect Austin. He isn't going anywhere, imo. I predict he starts in 2009. At least, he should start opposite of Roy Williams. He's talented and ready. Plus, the Cowboys have developed him, and they are not going to let another team reap the benefits. He's young, fast, and strong.

They can have Crayton. Be my guest. You can replace him in the fourth round or fifth round.

I like how people are all on Miles Austin... Maybe Jerry Jones will have enough sense to keep him around.

I have to believe that the Cowboys are smart enough to do what it takes to make sure that Miles Austin is a Cowboy next year and for years to come. We have invested too much in his development to let the Dolphins get the rewards for the work of the Cowboys coaches.

Enough of this non-sense...you want a Skyler Green or Isiah Stanback out there instead of Crayton? Gimmee a damn break.

If they dump Owens, letting Austin go would be pretty stupid, even with getting a 2nd rd pick in return. Austin looks like he could really be a quality starter at some point, and is certainly more of a sure thing right now than a 2nd rd pick, especially a 2nd rd pick that would likely be at the end of the round.

I think he'll get the 1st rd tender, especially if Owens is released.

I agree if Owens is let go it would have to be a 1st for him to walk. I feel him and Roy would be great combo too.

You don't think Jarrett Dillard, Demetruis Bryd, Kenny McKinnley, or that guy from Arizona couldn't take Crayton's job in the slot. Felix Jones can line up there at times. These guys are not punt returners or college quarterbacks.

Did Steve Smith go to the Super Bowl playing the slot as a rookie?

Quit cursing.

I think its time to shuffle the deck at WR. Crayton has been good, but he dropped a huge pass in the playoffs and stopped on his route. If he keeps running, it's a TD. (Two huge plays, two huge flops)

Here is the Article posted from Miami (if this is a repost....sorry)

Fins to Take a Flier on Cowboys Restricted Free Agent WR Austin?
Posted by Matt Loede on February 16th, 2009 filed in Rumors

The Miami Herald reports that the Fins may have an interest in Cowboys WR Miles Austin, who will be a restricted free agent on February 27th. Here is the story:

Sources at Valley Ranch say that Cowboys wide receiver Miles Austin is likely to get a second-round tender for his restricted free agency, and there may be a team interested in taking him. As no surprise, it’s Bill Parcells’ Miami Dolphins. The Cowboys gave up their entire top draft picks, 1st and 3rd, and a 6th, to acquire Roy E. Williams so if they could get a second rounder for Austin, they might just pull the trigger.

Kind of is a repost, but as much as I like Miles, I'd say a second rounder is a good deal. We might even be able to work out a Carpenter/Miles for 2nd rounder, John Beck and another late round pick, although I'm not a John Beck fan.
