The other day I mentioned the reasons I believe the Cowboys opener in their new home will be on NBC.

To recap: I think Jerry Jones, who is a big man on the TV committee and in NFL circles in general, would want to play in a time slot when no other team is playing and he would choose NBC over ESPN because NBC draws lots more eyeballs.

Then a voice came from deep within Valley Ranch, weighing in the subject. The voice pointed out that NBC employs the venerable Al Michaels and John Madden while ESPN has relative new kids on the block Mike Tirico, Tony Kornheiser and Ron Jaworski. The voice pontificated that Jones would choose "venerable" over "new kids" to help usher in his new pride and joy any day of the week.

"Madden and Michaels are the NFL," the voice offered.

Agree 100%, besides after all the bad mouthing ESPN does, why would Jerry want to reward them.

Jerry's looking for a welder? I can do that.

I wonder just how many heads are gonna be just a tad underneath that. :)

We do indeed play well on Sunday Night. I'm not sure of the record, but we almost always win those games.

Based on how we closed out Texas Stadium, I hope we are playing the "Little Sisters of the Poor."

:bang2:

It would suck to end Texas Stadium with an arse whipping and open the new one the same way.

Maybe we could just have an intra-squad scrimmage to open the new stadium. :)

Nah, I am mentally preparing myself for some team to come in and open our new diggs by stomping our butts, peeing on our Star, and taking our women.

I can't wait. :banghead:

I don't get it....why would Jerry need a welder? I'm sure the contractor setting up the new arena has his own guys that can make metal stick together.

If they want the NBC broadcast to be special, I guess this means no nationally televised pre-season game at the stadium. :-(

There was talk that they might be in the HOF game.(no idea if it was to be at home but it would make sense)

But that's in Canton. We'd still have two pre-season games in the new stadium.

You know how Jones insists on being hands-on. "Everything from socks to jocks..."

I totally flaked on that comment. It didn't register in my head the game would be in Canton.:(
