This week Terry McAulay's crew will work Saturday's game between the Cowboys and New Orleans. They worked the Carolina-New England game last week, calling 17 penalties and 13 were accepted.
Carolina was flagged nine times for 92 yards, and the Patriots were penalized four times for 25 yards.
Since Nov. 2002, this is the ninth time McAulay has worked a Dallas game and the Cowboys have a 6-2 record. The last game he worked was the 41-37 win against Philadelphia at Texas Stadium on Sept. 15, 2008. In each of the last three games he's worked, the Cowboys have been penalized 10 or more times for 100 or more yards.
So they got that going for them, which is nice.
Last week's breakdown:
Face mask - 1
Offensive holding - 2
Delay of game - 1
Illegal shift - 4
Defensive holding - 2
Defensive pass interference - 1
Illegal formation - 2
Illegal use of hands - 1
False start - 1
Roughing the kicker - 1
Neutral zone infraction - 1
Quarter-by-quarter breakdown:
First - 1
Second - 6
Third - 4
Fourth - Six
