Peter King doesn't pick Cowboys for Super Bowl

Sports Illustrated's Peter King, who makes Super Bowl predictions in June so he can claim he was first, doesn't have the Cowboys going to the desert this winter. He went with Saints-Colts, which would be mighty entertaining. (You think the Peyton Manning-vs.-his-pop's-team angle would get any media coverage?)

Why do I post this exciting news on this here blog? Because King picked the Cowboys to meet the Patriots in the last Super Bowl. Oh, and because it's a slow time for Cowboys news.

He also named teams like NO, Philly, Chi, and Sea as the NFC contenders...not one mention of the Cowboys. His man-crush on Parcells has jaded him...

Exactly. That was the only reason he picked us before.

And I think New Orleans is much more due for a downturn than for a trip to the Super Bowl.

I agree. Seems like most everything went the Saints way last year. Things are bound to even out...

I just bet the executives at FOX are bouncing off the walls with excitement over that potential matchup.

Peter King is DONE giving us Cowboys more credit than we deserve... ( I don't mean that in a bad way) King was a reporter during BP's time in NE or in NY if I remember right, and he absolutely loves the guy. If BP was coaching the Commanders, I guarantee you King would find an excuse to put them in the fine fifteen' every week.. I used to like that King was such an um-dumb about giving us credit, but now that those days are gone I can't help but hate the big idiot.

Good Riddance.

That would seem to be the case, but I happen to believe they are going to be the best team in the nfc. Its dissapointing knowing who the coaches and some of the players are but I believe there offensive line will be better, bush will be better and if meachem whips into shape they have maybe the best group of wr in the league.

They pick up an outstanding player like eric johnson to play tight end for a small amount and it gets no pub, but he is a damn good player. Having him or any tight end this year as a receiving threat is going to make them even that more dangerous.

There offense is going to put so much pressure on other teams offense to score and keep up that I believe there defense as underwhelming as it seems on paper will play well. They will be in alot of obvious pass rushing situations will be able to take chances because of the quality of the offense.

Philly, seattle, chicago and new orleans I see as the 4 best in the nfc. I happen to think that new orleans might be the best of the 4.

So even though logic says they will take a step back, I think with their age and incredible skill players they will be the team to beat. I hope we get a chance to do it.

Since King gets his picks wrong most of the time, contrarian logic (wow big word huh) would let me think that we have a great shot since he is not picking us to do anything.

:lmao: Parcells didn't sniff the Superbowl last year. I'm glad people aren't on the Cowboys bandwagon, it gets too hard to drag sometimes.

I would rather fly under the radar anyway. The mediots keep picking the Panthers as well, and they have tanked every year since the Superbowl year.

Wasn't this the same guy who predicted the Dolphins to win the AFC Championship/Superbowl last season?

Enough said.

Im not sold on their defense. We'll see what happens. They are pretty damn explosive on offense. Amazing what a good QB can do with that talent.

The last time he was right? Not sure, but he called Romo starting last year.
