I keep asking why Garrett would leave the most ideal setup any coach-to-be could want.

Still haven't gotten a straight answer though. So again. Why would Garrett want to go to a team with numerous holes and far less talent when he can wait a year or two and be the head coach of dallas?

Seriously. Look at the possible openings. Are any of them nearly as appealing as being the head coach of the Dallas Cowboys when the Cowboys break in their new stadium?

I completely agree. It is hard to imagine a better situation for him to be in.

I don't think you guys are reading between the lines.

"But I went a long way out of the way to get him." - J.J.

Promises were made, promises will be kept. Garrett will be back,
at least for one more year.

thanks for being rationale yrades. When Jerry wants someone he usually is successful in hiring them. Once they are in the fold, he usually keeps them: the notable exception being Jimmy and his massive ego problem. Garrett will be the highest paid coordinator in football next season, and when they open the stadium in 09' ,Wade will either get a golden parachute OR get kicked upstairs and consult. Garrett takes over and we keep rolling. It'll happen.

If it's about money, Jerry will take care of it. I doubt it is, though, and Jason is as good as gone next year. I hope Sparano can take what he learned from Garrett and fill his shoes next season.

Jason is only 41, and been coaching for only 3 years. I'm thinking he'll want to get some experience in Dallas, learning at the feet of Phillips.

I don't know what his salary is this year, but wasn't Wade Wilson's salary estimated to be half a million as quarterback/steroids coach? Garrett has to be at least a million. Jerry will take good care of him.

Most likely Garrett stays. To listen to some pundits you'd think its a forgone conclusion thats hes gone. "How can any coordinator turn down a HC offer"?
Well it happens just about every year. Kubiak turned down a few in Denver before he took the Texans job. Payton turned down the raiders in 2005.

When you're a hot HC candidate you have options. You can be selective. You tend to have the confidence to turn down a HC job that doesnt offer optimal conditions.
Garrett should and probably does have more confidence than most. He not only is a hot HC candidate, but he's in an ideal OC spot with Romo and an owner who loves him.

Dont get nervous if he goes on an interview or two. He'll likely do that for the experience.

Red Ball is not ready to be a HC.

Red Ball knows that

Red Ball can learn a lot from Wade the next few years and suceed and be the next Dallas HC in due time. This is a real smart kid.

It's in his long term best interest to stay OC a few more years here and win it all a few times. What is his value then?

In my dream scenario, we manage to hit the Big Dance this season. Redball agrees to stay for one more season, and we go again (and win, of course). Wade, satisfied that he's validated his head coaching ability, decides to run the defense for a couple of seasons as Garrett becomes the HC. Then every few years, they trade places as the NFL chews tinfoil and curses the Dallas Cowboys in vain.

Hey, it's just a dream, but it's a good one.

:lmao:

Works for me.

Yep. It's nice to hear the SD FO say that, but they really don't have a lot of choice in mid-season, with SD leading the West right now. They have to give him a vote of confidence. It's not like he called back-to-back timeouts in the last game or anything.

I thought that Norv signed a multi-year contract, which would seem to make any midseason pronouncements unnecessary.

But man, when you start hearing that even Norv Turner isn't as bad as you, you know it's time to hang 'em up.

we simply CANNOT let Red go... if it means Wade gets the shaft then so be it... wade has done a great job but Garrett is the future. you don't want to lose a 10 year head coach to keep another guy around for an extra 2.

Wade has done much more for this defense than Garrett has done for this offense.

Get the feeling that if Parcell's was here that Glenn would be playing by now?.:star:

We haven't needed Glenn yet. Why rush him. You'd only rush him if you needed him badly. Let him get back slowly, then unleash him in the playoffs.
