OK, I'm really tired of people saying we can't replace TO's production.
I took last year's receiving stats, and averaged catches, yards, and TDs per game for each player based on how many games played, not how many games either started or featured (for example, Tashard Choice only registered stats in 7 games, but his stats were divided by the 16 games he played in, so their stats are the bare minimum). Last year, with TO (and Tony Curtis, who is no longer with the team), we averaged 22 catches, 266 yards, and 1.93 passing TDs per game. I then increased each player's production by a percentage to see what it would take to replace such vaunted production.
15% increase for Witten, Barber, Crayton, and Deon Anderson
125% increase for Roy Williams and Felix Jones
20% increase for Choice
80% increase for Bennett and Austin
40% increase for Stanback
Those numbers came out to 23.9 catches, 280 yds, and 1.94 tds per game.
The 125% increase for Roy Williams gives him 4.28 catches, 44.55 yds, and .23 tds per game, which translates to 68.4 catches, 712.8 yards, 3.6 tds for the season. And Felix Jones stats translates to 12 catches, 60 yds, and 0 tds for the season. So really, it isn't hard at all to replace TO's production. And I'm pretty certain that Witten isn't going to just have 4.6 tds this year, or that Roy isn't going to score 3.6 tds this year, or that Felix won't score on a HB screen.
