maybe i do. but my point isn't to defend jones in as much as try to understand that if they leave here because they can't be GM it's pretty silly to take a job where the GM was just hired.

Look at the bigger picture. Parcells more than likely wont even go the contract. Jobs are more likely to open up in Miami. Advancement more likely in Miami. Plus learning from Parcells over Jones? That isn't a dig on Jones, he has his way, Parcells his way.

my main point is he could still have gotten good experience here. *I HAVE NO PROBLEM* with him leaving!!! but sometimes it also seems you take a dig at Jones just to take a dig.

Any one who works for Dallas IS getting good experience. You couldn't have any thing better on your resume. But like most family run businesses, you are only going so far. GM might not be the ultimate for these guys, none of us know. But like you or any one else they want the room to advance to the top. Where is that chance with Jerry?

He can't be GM here so he must go!
Never said that

well he can't be GM where he's going either anytime soon so i don't get it.

Unless Jerry is going to retire in a few years  where is the better chance

that's all.

Again not every thing said about Jones is a dig. Some times it's just what it is.

Lacewell on Henson !

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Wednsday on the Mike Fisher show here in Dallas Larry Lacewell was on and
was asked if Henson could play. He said everyone of our scouts and all of our coaches were in complete agreement on Henson including Parcells. He said he heard from other GMs who called him and said the Boys stole Henson. He said he looks good in practice and said he looked very good against the Ravens and said he should not have been pulled against the Bears. He said he looks good and he doesn't understand what is going on with Parcells.

As long as this guy is locked out of Valley Ranch we might be ok!!!!!!

Rediculous? What do you expect JJ to do? You do not stand in the way of employees who wish to be elsewhere. If you do, you never will get full effort from them. There will always be some sort of animosity towards the employer.

JJ made the right call by allowing Gaine to move on and be with the Dolphins under Jeff.

I have no problem with it. It's not great. It's horrible timing as far as the draft is concerned. I still feel JJ did the right thing.

it's not JJ that I'm kind of mad about, it's Parcells trying to raid us

I dont' have a problem w/ what Jerry did, just Parcells just couldn't be happy w/ Ireland

then if career advancement is a priority and GM is the position in question since jones won't relinquish it, why would anyone go to a team who just hired a GM?

it's the 'hate jones' logic to me.

no, it's just simple logic, none of them are going to get the opportunity to advance to the GM role in Dallas, because there will be no GM as long as Jerry is owner, it's just a simple fact of the Dallas Cowboy's heiarchy, no hate there, as hate is illogical, this thinking is not, Gaines and all them are going to Miami, and are going to get their names out, hopefully, dependent upon how the Dolphins do under Bill and their tenure there, and then hopefully all of them will get GM offers elsewhere

I love how you're trying to protect Jerry from the evil posters, but you're trying too hard my man in this instance

no one said they were perplexing. just that GM was not an end-all-be-all of jobs in the nfl.

for personnel guys such as Gaines and Ireland, yes, it is, that's the pinnacle of their profession right there

have i said ireland was wrong? no. i've supported that move 100%. gaines? him too. i understand the whole pinnacle thing regardless of how clever it sounded when you wrote it.

i'm saying he's not going to hit it NOW. ireland just got it. gaine - who knows what his motivation is. but if GM is a one day goal, he can get the experience he needs TODAY - here as well. if he'd just rather be in miami, great. go to miami. neither of which do i care about.

i'm just saying gain is not leaving NOW, i don't think, because he can't be GM here TODAY. as for ireland, i've always said parcells is just doing what he needs to do and good for ireland on the move up.

and if i crawl on my hands and knees to the alter of the simple, if i beg a thousand times and promise to never eat meat on the days of cowboys games again, if i read every "thesarus for dummies" i can find till i die and wither into the sunset in fear to memorize every 1 syllable word or less and then in turn study on mountains in tibet how to put those together for the most simple of minds, of which who's alter i've crawled to...

i still can't dumb me down enough for you to get it.

I hope the nfl rules that this can never happen again until after the draft. This was ridiculus. Jerry had no choice but let Gaines go. You can't have someone divided on the staff. If a rule is passed against this kind of in draft season move. Then, teams and personel will know you can't ask to leave or the like. This was a low class move by Parcells, Ireland and whoever else was involved.

These guys came in with BP and BP called them to come to Miami.

When BP calls, guys go. We saw that here and at every stop he makes.

When he leaves in 2 or 3 years all his guys will be running things. Ireland will be the GM when the Dolphins get past this rebuilding.

So long as we now remain a true pro personnel front office and not a bunch of good ole buddies from Arkansas I am fine with the happenings.

I am hopeful Jerry understands the value of the scouting arena and will continue to add talent to that group.
