It's easy to focus on the inconvenience of a split training camp. Ask those who are responsible for packing and moving all of the equipment.
But when the Cowboys make it official in the next few weeks that they will split camp between San Antonio and Oxnard, Calif., here are a couple of things to consider on why it makes sense.
Sure, the Cowboys practice indoors in San Antonio. But you've spent time in Texas in the summer. Are you telling me you wouldn't enjoy a couple of weeks of crisp, cool evenings?
The crowds aren't as big toward the end of training camp in San Antonio. Big crowds can translate into more energy in practice. In essence, the Cowboys will be holding two training camps, and that could help keep interest and energy high in both spots.
