And when NFL Network and NFL.com offer it up beginning at 6 pm, it could look like this:

I hope the home opener is against the Commanders...

What a way to open our new stadium - by thumping the crap out of Snyder's 4-Skins...

But boy we would never hear the end of it if they beat us in that game either.

i would rather have the first home game against an easy opponent, that way, we can build some momentum towards winning, and players see that you have to sacrifice their individual stats to win towards championships, then the stats and glory will come later after winning. But you have to win first.

Said it before and I'll say it again.

Everyone lets collectively pray to the football gods that we have an easier December. We don't want a cake walk by any means, but not a month jam full of top 5 defenses.

agree apollo creed, we do need a easy december schedule, i think what the cowboys need, is a easy september schedule, to build some momentum, chemistry and an easy schedule in december to finish. But we dont want the cowboys to think december is a skate walk either.

I'd rather see a tough September. Get much of the tough part of the schedule out of the way and not have any injury excuses and not give the team a reason to be full of themselves early. This group has proven they dont handle praise well.

Honestly, what can a show possibly do with releasing the schedule? Go one by one and highlight all the good games? Great, thanks! I'll log onto a website and pick it up that way I can jump to what I think is important.

Couple of things about this...

#1: I'd love to open the new stadium with the Skins, Eagles, or Giants. I don't want to hear about "We need easier opponents to build momentum" that's weak. If they want to prove this is their new home, and it won't be easy to come in here and win, then you do it against whoever. It shouldn't matter who comes in, even if it's the defending champs, they should kick their butts to show that it will not be easy to win here.

#2: I don't want an easy, or easier, December. Praying for easy is asking for the team to skate into the playoffs not ready to play championship ball.

The better teams, with championship ability, beat whoever is on their schedule in December. The harder the schedule shouldn't matter. If they aren't ready to win in December, against the better defenses, then they're not ready to play playoff football anyway.

HOME GAMES
Oakland Raiders - Thanksgiving Day (CBS), Thursday, November 26, 2009, 3:15pm CT
New York Giants
Philadelphia Eagles
Washington Commanders
Atlanta Falcons
Carolina Panthers
Seattle Seahawks
San Diego Chargers

AWAY GAMES
New York Giants
Philadelphia Eagles
Washington Commanders
New Orleans Saints
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Green Bay Packers
Denver Broncos
Kansas City Chiefs

***

So, basically, some hope that the upcoming schedule will have the Seahawks, Packers, Broncos and Chiefs set for December. That ain't gonna happen in my opinion.

It's about ratings. Dallas will have at least two divisional games scheduled for December. NFC East doesn't play "easy" games (unless one of the teams emerges from the lockerroom lethargically and deja vu). That's half of December's games.

It wouldn't surprise me to see a minimum of another division's first-place or second-place teams from '08 slotted in the final four games either, meaning that the Panthers, Falcons and/or Chargers could be pushed to the bottom of the schedule too.

My main concerns are for the bye week to fall somewhere around midseason and for the team to play each week like it's their last. Hard schedule. Soft schedule. Doesn't matter. The most important thing is beating any and all opponents so that you're the last team standing. That's football. That's the NFL.

Would playing at TB and at NO in December be to much to ask?

Don't really care about much of anything else. I just don't want cold windy December games.

Could we please have all our cold weather site games schedule before Thanksgiving?

Unfortunately, the NFL is stuck with potential bad weather games until domes eliminate that contingency. The good news is that the entire league is inching forward in that direction. The bad news is that it's inching forward in that direction.

There will be some teams like Chicago and Greenbay that simply won't ever play in a dome. Pittsburgh as well. Those teams LOVE the cold weather they get late in the year as an advantage to their teams and none of us on the forums, right now, are likely to see any of those 3 teams move to a dome in our life times.

You kidding me? Football is meant to be played outside, not in a freaking dome.

Bad weather games is what makes football what it is. The day that weather stops becoming a factor in games is the day I stop watching football.

Here's to hoping Denver early in the schedule. :)

Wasn't there a rumor or report indicating that the Broncos would likely be the week 1 opponent with the Cowboys playing a prime time game to open Jerry World during week 2?

So, reflecting on the fact that you're a Cowboys fan, your statement is about football in general and does not include Dallas Cowboys home games from 2009 forward which would be played during inclement weather? :)

The schedule release like the draft and combine is now officially a TV event. The NFL Network, which could use the programming, will do the honors beginning at 6 pm. In addition to the 16 Cowboys games, NFL Network will also fill in the league's other 240 games on the two-hour show..

Because NFLN penetration is limited, ESPN will be there to write down the schedules when it hears them on NFLN or sees them on NFL.com and then report them. ESPN's coverage also begins at 6 pm. The schedule show will start at 6 pm on ESPN2 before sliding over to ESPN at 7 pm for two hours

Here's a mock Cowboys schedule:

Cowboys @ Broncos -- Fox
Giants @ Cowboys -- NBC
Falcons @ Cowboys -- ESPN
Cowboys @ Commanders -- Fox
Cowboys @ Saints -- Fox
Chargers @ Cowboys -- CBS
Eagles @ Cowboys -- Fox
Commanders @ Cowboys -- NBC
Cowboys @ Packers -- Fox
Seahawks @ Cowboys -- Fox
Cowboys @ Bucs -- Fox
Raiders @ Cowboys -- CBS
Cowboys @ Eagles -- NBC
Cowboys @ Chiefs -- Fox
Panthers @ Cowboys -- NFLN
Cowboys @ Giants -- Fox

A December setup like this one would not surprise me in the least, with Kansas City being the only "easy" game scheduled.

A NJ paper is reporting that the Skins open at the Giants in the late game, which means I'll miss the Dallas game if they open at KC or Denver. ******.
