Report: Maroney out

John Tomase of the Boston Herald is reporting that Patriots RB Laurence Maroney will not play in Sunday's game against the Cowboys.

Maroney was called a "game-time" decision by coach Bill Belichick on Friday and did make the trip to Dallas today. However, he also made the trip to Cincinnati two weeks ago and didn't play.

It also should be noted that the Patriots play games with injury situations, and Maroney making the trip could simply be a bit of gamesmanship.

sammy morris it is

He was a solid backup in Miami, played well when Ronnie Brown was injured. In the Pats games I've seen this year, he's played well.

Dallas is good against the run, seven man front is enough, injuries in the secondary are the key, Dallas must respond with great coverage schemes and pass rush.

I haven't watched many Pats games this year except for that Mon Nighter against Cincy, but didn't he have 100+ yards in it? How did he do in the Cleveland game?

Morris is good but I have confidence in Dallas keeping him a modest contributer, it is the deep ball that is the concern.

He had 100+ against the jets (He carried on NE's first eight plays)and 100+ against the chargers but has seen limited duty since ...His chief value to NE is his explosiveness, he's one of those players you have to pay extra attention to....

Dont fall for this crap Wade, expect Maroney to play tommorow. Belicheat is notorious for fake injury reports, kinda like Brady listed with a hurt shoulder every freaking game.

How does John Tomase of the Boston Herald know for sure? I've seen a couple other reports insisting Maroney is likely to play.

Being that Maroney is making the trip, supposedly, to fool the Cowboys, this means someone would've had to leak it to this particular writer. I'll believe it when I see it.

For all we know, this guy is reporting this to help the Pats out in fooling the Cowboys.

How's that for paranoia? :)

I don't care who the RB is. I want us to play the best they have and let the chips fall where they will.

Check the camcorder at the door Belicheat.

Plenty of Patriots fans are disenchanted with Maroney already and say Sammy Morris is better.

Welcome to the board, up to 8 post already I see. There are some things you need to know while you are here.

1. The Pats are notorious cheaters now and your entire organization should have an asterik burned into it like that homerun ball of Bonds.

2. The Boyz EARNED their Lombardis without cheating, so you really dont belong on the same field with us at this point, bunch of dirty cheaters.

3. We all know the Pats had alot more stuff on teams then was made public, but fortunately the commish burned all the evidence. What did yall do exactly, give Roger "no balls" Godell a kick back?

As long as you know how your organization and its accomplishments are viewed, there wont be a problem. There is no discussion among these points, if you want to debate it, go back to your own board.

Was all that really necessary? The guy came here to talk football. I'm no mod or anything, but I would kind of like it if people from other teams the week of the game felt somewhat welcome to come here and have constructive discussions on football without being attacked.

Who attacked the guy, just laid down the ground rules for him. If he wants to have a constructive discussion, thats fine. If he wants to debate "spygate", he needs to go back to where he came from. There is no discussion on spygate, but he is welcome to discuss the game today.

Was this necessary?

WAS CHEATING REALLY NECESSARY???

I don't trust this report, either.

As partial as these Boston writers seem to be, I'm starting to think these guys like Tomase wouldn't hesitate to help the team with their deceptive tactics.

Either that or someone lied to ESPN, which wouldn't surprise me either.

Beast From The East...Perhaps you should read the posts on your own board regarding your organization's use of video tape in the Exact manner of BB and the "going through the trash " by your interns during the Jimmy Johnson era ....(It was from about two days ago and is easy to find)....What are You attacking me for anyway? My post here was in response to a question!!! ...I like to talk football, not smack, and I challange you (or any else) to find a post in which I was offensive...

I believe NFLN reported it too.

Malroney has a groin injury, they don't heal overnight.
