Tony Romo spoke to the media for more than 18 minutes Friday. Rather than touch on every thing he said, here are a few highlights.
We'll follow these with more quotes later in the day.
On standards: "I have much loftier goals and expectations than any of you will have for me,'' Romo said. "That's part of the reason why you get so down or frustrated or hurt when you don't play.''
On putting blame for NY loss on yourself: "I don't really like the façade or the fakeness of things,'' Romo said. "I really try very hard to be myself. This is who I am. I don't need to go run sprints when you guys are out there so you guys (media) think I work hard.
"You don't need to be fake. You don't need to go out there and present an image and things of that nature. If I felt like I played poorly and lost the football game, I'm going to tell you. If I felt like something else, I'll tell you. For me, that's the way it is. It's clear. It's pretty cut and dry.''
On bouncing back: "Here's the reality of it,'' he said. "You're either good enough to or you're not. People can talk all day long, 'oh, he just can or can't' or whatever it is people want to say. But the reality of it is either someone is gifted enough to do certain things and they do it more often than not.
"People expect you to play at a high level, which is a compliment in many ways in that people think you can play better than what you did. I can. I think that I will and I think this football team will.''
