The Cowboys have had trouble covering the tight end in recent years. That's why safety Gerald Sensabaugh has been such a valuable addition.

Well, Sensabaugh won't play Sunday at Kansas City. His spot will be taken by Patrick Watkins. Expect the Chiefs to look for tight end Sean Ryan early and often.

"You could see when he (Sensabaugh) went out, they hit a couple of passes on us to the tight end split out wide that we saw when Gerald wasnt' here,'' head coach Wade Phillips said of the Denver game.

"You have to change things with what you do. Sometimes, you have to help a guy or play different techniques than we do with Gerald, but that's part of it.''

Now would be a real good time for Watkins to show that he can get it done. I'm not expecting it but it really would help him and us. All that physical talent and he can't get it done. It's a shame.

Well...I guess we will be seeing plays where the SS,FS and CBs will be pointing at each other and shaking their heads like they did not know which one was to stay with the WR/TE and which one was to drop him off to the FS/SS.

:(

Are we honestly adjusting because of Sean Ryan? Really?

If our safeties can't work the scheme we have against Sean Ryan, they why are they on the team? It is pretty frightening if Watkins can't even match up man on man against a player that ordinary.

Our coaching staff drives me crazy.

On one hand we have Garrett who stubornly runs the same plays regardless of Sam Hurd running them or Roy Williams. Then you have Wade Phillips tweaking things because the Broncos completed a few passes to Tony Scheffler (I don't recall Daniel Graham being split wide).

Talk about a difference in style.

This is why I said Thank Gawd Tony Gonzalez isn't there anymore. (Of course he will be up next game.)

But I think you have to alter things. Watkins has proven he can't cover man to man at all. Now maybe Sean Ryan is so lousy that he can do it, but that remains to be seen. Wade suggested after the Giants game that our corners would play more zone, but we didn't really do that. So as always, you can't trust what you hear in PCs.

We just have to pray Sensabaugh can play against Gonzalez or he and Matt Ryan will eat us alive.

Why would Sunday be any different from the rest of his career?

Maybe because for a change he looked good at least in pre-season. That is reason for hope but certainly not a sure thing.

He actually did pretty well against the giants
Amazingly, he's their leading receiver.

I think that says more about how sad they are as opposed to Ryan being more than the player he's always been.
