It is definately time to part ways with Ellis. We need to get younger and more athletic at LB. You could clearly see a drop off in his abilities this year as well. Even if he does have another season left in him, it is better to get rid of a guy a year too early then a year too late in my opinion.

Not to mention his negative attitude has to contribute to the whole chemistry issue.

I remember the debate surrounding this non-move a few months back.

And I think it's indicative of the spineless enabler Wade Phillips is and why the inmates run the asylum.

Couldnt agree more, Wade's inability to pull the trigger on roster spots and starters cost this team a chance at the playoffs. How do you play Pacman week 17 over Jenkins and Scandrick and why was Anthony Henry still starting? Same answer as above, Wade is spineless and not cut out to be a head coach.

Finding a way to get Ware, Suggs and Spencer on the field at once is a great problem to have.

Ware flip flops all the time, Spencer can play standing up or with his hand in the ground, and than you can blitz Suggs from anywhere.

Imagine that on 3rd & long

Canty, Ratliff, Hatcher, Spencer
Suggs, Burnett, Ware

Im just not sure if its possible to create enough cap space for the 5 year $60 million deal hes looking for

Sergio Kendle???? :lmao:

You mean the guy that was the top HS player in the nation and has become a bust???? What a freakin joke!

Uhhh, Kindle had 10 sacks and 14 tackles for loss this past season...

Some "bust"... is it remotely possible that you really don't know what you're talking about, and are in fact just another cliche known as a Horns hater??

I don't think he gets cut, he can still contibute to this team, he just may not be a starter anymore and will just have to deal with it.

This is what I think will happen too. Do I like it? not really.. but when the guy that was supposed to supplant Ellis can't make it to the playing field it bodes well for the return of Greg Ellis. I'm waiting for Mr Top Draft Pick Spencer to show us all something that doesn't include threats to kick bouncers *****...

My understanding is the CBA deal just needs replaced. There is no guarentee it is going to be uncapped IIRC

The NFL opted out of the CBA and thus the final year of the CBA (2010) is thus uncapped. However, players have to have 5 years of service instead of 4 in order to be a free agent in the uncapped year.

The key is that 2010 is the last year of the CBA and if an extension is not agreed to, we will either have a strike or a lock-out in 2011 because neither side is going to play the season without a CBA in place.

Now if a new CBA is signed before 2010 and the salary cap remains in place, then 2010 will probably fall under the new CBA and will be capped.

Bottom Line......If no extension is agreed to, 2010 will be uncapped and there will be no CBA in place after that. Thus, either a strike or a lock out will happen before the 2011 season...........this is worst case scenario.

Personally, he annoys me more than any other player on the roster. He is one of the very few Cowboys players that I wouldn't be thrilled to meet.

I am with you....cut his ***!!

I wonder if we could actually afford both Suggs and Ware. Guys like Roy Williams (S), Henry, and Ellis would probably have to be let go to clear up the cap space.

That'd be a helluva tandem. Ware and Suggs off the edge.

We'd have a young, athletic, pass rushing compliment to Ware finally! Add in Ratliff up the middle.... as well as Bradie blitzing up the middle....

That'd be pretty exciting.

But slim to no chance it happens.

Right. Tie up all that money in Suggs right as we're about to unleash our strongside pass rushing tandem of Carpenter and Spencer?

Do you ever think before you post?

Carpenter. Great sarcasm there.

I'm still hoping that oversized fish down in Florida is willing to do something stupid to get him. But it's a faint hope.

If you think Owens should be gone, you think Ellis should be gone.

or you're a hypocrite.
