When we first drafted Felix i was kind of iffy. But like what they said Mendenhall was a everydown back and we already had one in MB3. And felix was something special and we couldnt let him go.

But now i think it was an excellent descion.

Mendenhall might not be an any down back, let alone an everydown back.

I was against felix at first...The Cowboys picked the right player that looks like a million bucks right now. mendenhall looks TERRIBLE!!!.

Mendenhall averaged about what the other rbs averaged last night. I thing what was more telling was that they had Moore in at the end of the game.

my thoughts exactly, doesn't seem to speak too highly of the Steelers confidence in him

I'm happy with both the selection of Felix over Mendenhall and Ware over Merriman. Glad those two picks worked out in our favor to make up for the many that have busted like Carpenter.

I think most ppl rgged Jerry because they had Mendenhal above Felix... the process shows that the Cowboys are not very good at rating players in the draft!

the fact that Jerry picked Felix and did not follow his board shows the flaw... I wonder if Pittsburg had Felix rated over Rashard!

I actually wanted Felix Jones and Malcolm Kelly in the 1st round.

It will be interesting to see if I was right about Kelly when so many on here told me he was a bust. Because he is a Sooner/Commander than im hoping he is a giant flop.

I heard he is starting for Washington though.
Those two are in a similar position this year. Both have lots of potential, the question is whether they will be able to stay on the field and deliver. I for one hope that Felix continues to get zero carries against the Commanders because players like him who are dual threats have caused a lot of headaches for us in the past.

I think where we got value is that it looks like Felix is just a natural at catching the screen. We have needed a guy like that for what, 20 years now?

Felix?! Are you kidding me?!

We got another "every down back" in the 4th round that year that's better than Mendenhall!

Mendenhall can't carry Felix or Tashard's jock!!

At the time, I thought we messed up. I thought Mendenhall was a complete back and had no business being available where we were drafting.

Almost every mock had us drafting Felix and although I didn't hate Felix, I considered him to be a return guy who benefitted from defenses tired of chasing Darren McFadden around.

Since then, I can say I'm very glad we drafted Felix and he's probably one of my favorite Cowboys. He reminds me of what Reggie Bush was at USC. I am usually right more than I'm wrong on college players and draft picks. I was wrong on Felix.

made a 53-man roster?

Spare me. He's a first rounder. Automatically gets 3 grace years to make a roster.

He's garbage and a fumblitis bust.

If I remember correctly, the argument was having a "complimentary" back or a back who could fill in as a starter if Barber went down. Few people knew that we'd wind up with one of those 3 rounds later in Choice.

Gotta love Felix but to be fair to Mendenhall that OL he's running behind is horrid.
