Gotta love Felix but to be fair to Mendenhall that OL he's running behind is horrid.

For all of Emmitt's talent, he was good because he had the best OL in the league, so said the naysayers.

There is also an angle here that a lot of people are forgetting. Felix Jones was horribly overshadowed by McFadden and I think that helped lower his overall popularity among the general public.

The one group that stood firm in their belief that Felix Jones had the potential to become and elite back were Razorback fans. They knew even as the backup to the great McFadden that he could of been a feature back on his own and had much success.

In the end, we got a humble, hardworking, team first player who could start on any roster in this league.

For those who dislike Garrett, remember he was the one who talked Jerry into taking Jones. Or at least he coaxed him into it in the so-called 'war room'.
What do you mean "so-called"?

I wish folks would just calm down a bit.

If Felix Jones is the real deal (that being the next great Cowboys RB), it will play out on the field.

You are always going to be compared to contemporaries and people in your draft class.

Mendenhall looked awful last night.

Steelers whole running game was a complete joke and will get exploited as the season continues. I'm sure if the Titans knew how poor their running game was going to be the defensive game plan would of been different...now clubs can view the film from yesterday's game and exploit this offense as just plain mediocre.

I was upset we passed on Mendenhall until I heard their rationale, then I was okay with it. When we turned around and drafted Choice later, I was totally on board.

The concerns about Mendenhall when he came out were all true. He does not have great vision.

Whoa!!!

What do you mean that Mendenhall does not have great vision?

Didn't you see him go right into Roethlisberger's back!???

I guess he tried to dart into the wrong hole.

(Sorry)

There is one noticeable omission from comments in this thread. The crow must taste bitter.

With respect to the people who actually know what "war" is, that's what I mean "so-called". :)

I admit I bombed on this one.

Watching the two in college, I saw RM and the power/speed in which he ran and had visions of a slightly smaller version of Steven Jackson running through my head....turns out he is closer to Joe Jackson. Meanwhile Felix didn't really prove to me he could run inside and run with enough power to break tackles. Turns out he is so quick and sees the field so well he doesn't need to run over them, he just runs around and by them.

I knew from the get go Felix Jones was a steal, I watched the Arkansas vs. LSU game in 2007 and was completely blown away by him, the commentators couldn't get enough of McFadden but i couldn't keep my eyes off this situational runningback who was scoring every time he touched the ball, it was like watching a Tony Dorsett clone.

When I learned that Dallas drafted him i was immdeiately filled with a giddy feeling, knowing full well Dallas got the most underrated athlete in the draft and a player that was probably the best runningback to come out since Adrian Peterson.

Mendenhall wasn't even on my radar, i had no knowledge or desire for his services.

There really is no comparrison. Mendenhall isn't even better than Choice.
