Unlike another former Cowboy standout (Emmitt Smith) Roger Staubach foresaw good things for this team. Before the opener, Staubach predicted a 12-4 season. The Cowboys missed by one win, but Staubach has not wavered in his belief.

``I really good about the team this year, even early on,'' Staubach said. ``I knew they had to get things working and get their defense together. ... Tony (Romo) is a great quarterback, and now he's got a whole team working together. I've been a believer, and I feel they're going to beat the Eagles. Then, we'll take on the next one.''

Staubach play quarterback for 12 seasons with the Cowboys, leading them to two Super Bowl victories. He made the comments on Tuesday night before joining several other former Cowboys such as Randy White and Bob Lilly at the AT&T Performing Arts Center for the filming of a pilot episode for the television program ``Glory Days.''

Maybe he stopped making payments on a lease or failed to return the leased car or something, like that. I think that may constitute auto theft.

Given this sort of recent track record, I'm starting to doubt it...

A year ago, Glenn was arrested at an Irving hotel for public intoxication and possession of marijuana, according to Irving police records. At the time of that arrest, he had four outstanding traffic warrants - one for speeding, one for an expired vehicle registration and two for failure to appear in court.

What the hell is wrong with a guy who most likely has a ton of money and his retirement at such a young age that he has to **** up like this???

He's gotta have millions in the bank. No need to steal a car out of desperation.

Wasn't he a knucklehead back when he was younger? Sometimes you don't change even if you end up with a lot of money.

I thought he was working in Miami with Parcells, too. Ugh.

Ex-Dallas Cowboy Terry Glenn arrested on auto theft charge 12:05 PM CT

Former Dallas Cowboys receiver Terry Glenn has been arrested in Irving on a charge of auto theft, according to court records.

Terry Glenn Initial details were sketchy.

Glenn, 35, was booked into the Irving jail around 7 p.m. Tuesday and released about 1 a.m. today.

He could not be reached immediately for comment.

The exact location of the alleged theft was not revealed, nor was there any immediate indication of whether Glenn knew the owner of the vehicle.

A year ago, Glenn was arrested at an Irving hotel for public intoxication and possession of marijuana, according to Irving police records. At the time of that arrest, he had four outstanding traffic warrants - one for speeding, one for an expired vehicle registration and two for failure to appear in court.

Glenn, who attended Ohio State University, played 12 years in the National Football League, his last five with the Dallas Cowboys. His most productive seasons for the Cowboys were 2005 and 2006, when he caught passes for 1,136 and 1,047 yards, respectively.

He scarcely played in 2007, his final season on the team's roster. That year, he underwent surgery twice to repair an injured right knee.

The Cowboys released him before training camp in 2008, and the parting was acrimonious. Team owner and general manager Jerry Jones wanted the wide receiver to sign a waiver saying he would accept a reduced salary of $500,000 – a fraction of the $1.7 million he was scheduled to make that year – if he re-injured his knee. Glenn refused, saying the waiver was unfair.

He began his pro career with the New England Patriots, who took him in the first round of the 1996 NFL draft. As a rookie, he helped the Patriots reach the Super Bowl, snagging 90 receptions for 1,132 yards and 6 touchdowns in the regular season.

After New England selected him and before he signed with the team, Glenn made headlines when he drove his car into a tree in Columbus, Ohio. Police said he was driving about 60 in a 35-mph zone when his car went off the road. Neither he nor a passenger was seriously injured.

His first coach in New England was Bill Parcells – who later became his coach again in Dallas. Parcells, in speaking with reporters, once famously referred to Glenn as "she," an insult for which the coach was admonished by Patriots' owner Robert Kraft. (Parcells would later say that he was wrong about Glenn – that the receiver was a winner.)

In August 2001, while still with the Patriots, Glenn was suspended for the first four games of the regular season games for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy.

Or having a lot of money and free time on your hands might just make it worse. I'm not going to jump to conclusions, but if it the case it's sad.

NFL Star Arrested -- Booze, Pot, Possible Nudity
Posted Feb 5th 2009 1:00PM by TMZ Staff
Former NFL superstar Terry Glenn was arrested in Dallas last week after cops say he was running around a hotel drunk out of his mind and carrying weed -- oh, and he may have been naked.

Glenn, who was released from the Dallas Cowboys over the summer, was charged with public intoxication and marijuana possession after he was allegedly causing a disturbance at the Extended Stay Deluxe Hotel around 10:30 PM.

Sources close to the situation tell TMZ the front desk received several complaints from guests -- but one person claimed they saw Glenn lying on the floor in a hallway with his pants down.

We're also told Glenn went off on the hotel employee who called the cops, saying "You don't ****** know me ... I don't give a ****what you do ... get the **** outta here!"

Yeah there has got to be more to it than that.

Besides he stole enough from Jerry towards the end there.

Exactly. He has tons of money and doesn't have to work. That's a recipe for disaster for anyone that has even the slightest lack of self control.
