The safties sure dried up fast, not that apparently wanted one anyway.

The WR run totally crushed me, for a while I thought Robiskie really was a possibility.

There are quite a few players on that list who we're interested in.

Tomorrow should be a very good day for us.

With 2 picks in the top 11 of the 3rd, we could easily land 2 of these guys:

R. Johnson(S), J. Gilbert(DL) or J. Iglesias (WR)

Sidbury is also an option

Yes, I'd be happy with any 4 of those guys.

There is tons of value left and I hope everyone sees that. I would absolutely love it things fell like this for us:

69 -- Rashad Johnson S
75 -- Lawrence Sidbury DE/LB
101 -- Duke Robinson G
110 -- DJ Moore CB
117 -- Mike Thomas or Brandon Tate WRs
156 -- James Casey

I can dream, can't I?

Goose had William Moore, Free Safety rated at 47th in the country. Kiper had him as the #1 FS in the draft.

We picked at 51. We need a safety. We traded the pick away. We traded the pick away and lost value.

We hear Jerry say those players could be taken in the third.

We saw Atlanta take him two picks later.

LOL. OK.

Judging by Goose's ratings, which are gleaned from many NFL experts, EIGHT are at least second round talents and can still be had in the third.

I would agree but there were actually scouts out there who said Romo wasn't good enough to get drafted and Brady should go in the 6th round. Games aren't played on paper. You have no idea what those guys will become in the league. One of those guys could become a Pro Bowler.

So what is it you're saying? Goose knows better? The Cowboys know nothing?
Is it possible that the Cowboys didn't like Moore?

How about the possibility that they like Scandrick at FS and didn't like the idea of drafting at 51 and PAYING that player significant money only to be a backup to a 2nd year guy?

Maybe they felt the need to use that draft resource and that amount of cap $ on a player at a larger "need" position.

Perhaps an OL who could step in if one of a few different starters went down.

Perhaps a WR who could return punts.

Moore is a 221-pound strong safety.

Here's one scout's opinion: "Totally overrated. He looks like you want them to look but he misses a million tackles. He plays slow. No cover feel. Just out there, really, looking good in his uniform."

Just because some people like him doesn't mean we even wanted him at all.

There's not a team in the leauge that worries about money when it comes to mid 2nd round picks. Get that outta your head.

I'm not here to toot Goose's horn, but if he has a player ranked, he's generally right, give or take 10 spots. And Kiper had him as the top safety in the class.
Lindy's Pro Football magazine had him as the top safety in the class as well.

Thats good enough for me. Especially when we clearly have a need at safety. Any talk of moving to Scandrick there is premature at best. And then you'd lose a pretty good Corner.

Take all of the above, and then compare it with instead, trading the pick, and only LOSING value for it.

Its a no brainer. And anyone who says otherwise is an extreme homer in my eyes.

Check my post history. I don't bash Jerry. Never have really. But this one he screwed up. Screwed up pretty bad if you ask me.

Oh, and one more thing. You said we have a need at OT. And I agree with you. William Beatty was available at 51, who was rated as a top 6 tackle in an OUTSTANDING OT class.

But we let him go too.

If he's that bad, and he's the 47th rated player in this draft, what do you expect us to get in the later rounds?

Even more of a reason to trade the pick for a 2nd next year.

I just don't know how ANYONE can make that judgement tonight without knowing what players are going to be selected with those picks.

At the end of the season, sure, but to jump to conclusions now is crazy.
