you get way to freaking defensive for people not to come at you the way they do...

you don't see that, huh?

sorry man, I won't try to debate you about this anymore.

1. Aside from your "I can't believe you don't love Romo as much as me" attitude, I agree with most everything you said.
2. I clearly remember the season in which we fell short in the playoffs. I prefer playoff wins and progression over chance.

3. Please show me where I was calling for his head to be replaced...

Geez.. they have a sale on those rose colored shades or something?

We all know you are going to start the Stephen McGee watch this season. ;)

so him almost losing his dad shouldn't play into his "Ho hum" attitude? So when he says "if losing a football game is the worst thing that happens to me I lived a good life," months after his dad had cancer, you think that has anything to do with his play on the field? was he on the field when he said that or in a presser, pretty sure he wasn't playing when he said that.

you blaming arguably our best player for the deficiencies of the guys around him is the only silly thing going on in this thread.

No rational person watches the games and says tony isn't a good player or a winner.

Excuses excuses. There are no excuses this season... I want to see progression. That's not asking much. You be happy with the Romo "as is". You're in straight denial if you honestly believe that our fearless leader (I use that leader word loosely) doesn't bear some responsibility for our continued shortcomings.

Negative. Actually I want to see Romo step his game up. Not asking much.

Progression is key, and the Cowboys would seem to agree; every player cut this offseason was in an obvious state of regression.

I don't see an excuse there.

and I never said I was happy "as is"

but you holding that comment against him is ridiculous, it showed him to be a really mature young man. I don't see ho hum, what I am saying is you are reading something into it that isn't there.

brett favre said similar stuff all the time, he didn't want to win?

excuses excuses? who made an excuse.

cry about his on the field play, but not about the kid having life figured out a hell of a lot more than most people, let alone football players.

His play in December last year was ho hum. Those last two games were painful to watch. No?

I want to see a juggernaut led by a field general that gets stronger as the season goes on. Once again.. not too much to ask.

McGee may have the potential but we need to win and win now. Having to wait another 3 or 4 years to bring another QB along would suck. For the record, I did think it was a good draft pick but I am more excited about the intangibles Kitna brings to the backup QB position. He knows RW11 (can help Romo figure him out), has a great attitude for someone that once was a starter but is now relegated to backup duty, and has a nice arm. No more noodle armed Brad Johnson... That, in and of itself, is reason to rejoice.

Hopefully.... It's off to a pretty decent start but at some point you have to lead the team into the next phase.. the next rung up the ladder so to speak...

How many years was John Elway the quarterback in Denver before he got his team to
"the next phase"??

Your belief that Tony, and Tony alone, determines the Cowboys' success or failure is incredibly naive, bordering on ignorant... the TEAM quit on us late last season, but you seem to hold Tony personally responsible...

We shall find out this season. I'm very much looking forward to the blurriness of it all becoming crystal clear no matter which direction he ventures into...

Crystal-clearer, you mean? It must be that these rose-colored lenses are prescription.

Not much at all. How many guy's can he pass in order to be the highest-rated active QB in the league?

Negative. I hold Tony most responsible due to the fact that he's the starting QB that makes 67 mil (AKA Field General) and not the 53rd guy that makes $300,000.

That Romo Protection Brigade is a pretty large group.

You guys enjoy your happiness with menial statistical achievements. I will enjoy seeing a QB take his game to the next level and achieve the ultimate statistic. #6. That's what I would like to see.

Memo to Tony:

The mediots don't believe you.

The mediots can't play golf or football so what the hell do they know. Romo is not the only athlete who has talked about the benefit they get out of golf. It is very much a mental game for those who just ride in the cart drinking beer no it is just a way to have fun for those who take the game more seriously and strive at being good at it, it takes a lot.

And I have no doubt that is Romo goal as well. The numbers only show that as an individual he has the talent for this group of players to make it to the show and win it they will all have to do it together or it will not happen. There have been some great QB in the NFL who do not have a ring and there are some avg QB's who do have rings. As important as the QB poistion is history shows it is not just about the QB when it comes to winning championships
