You guys enjoy your happiness with menial statistical achievements. I will enjoy seeing a QB take his game to the next level and achieve the ultimate statistic. #6. That's what I would like to see.

Let's see how menial the statistics are when they're the reason we get #6.

You realize it's absurd to blame Romo because of the position he plays and the salary he makes rather than because of how he plays on the field, right?

Why not concentrate that frustration on the coaching that allows the penalties to persist--they probably kill two drives/game, statistically. Or on the TO differential that plummeted last year. These are the things that cause talented teams to lose to other talented teams. These are areas for improvement that include Tony Romo but that don't put the blame unfairly or entirely on the shoulders of one of our best players.

Negative. I hold Tony most responsible due to the fact that he's the starting QB that makes 67 mil (AKA Field General) and not the 53rd guy that makes $300,000.

I see-- if you make 67 million, you should be able to take the entire team on your shoulders and carry it to victory, all by yourself...

That Romo Protection Brigade is a pretty large group.

Or perhaps a lot of us recognize the smell of bovine fecal matter when we step in it...

But we get it, Romo is your personal Designated Scapegoat... he's probably responsible for global warming, too... but for him, bin Laden would have been captured long ago...

I note with interest that you didn't even try to answer my question about how long it took Elway to carry the Broncos to a Super Bowl victory... perhaps you realize the answer demonstrates how completely idiotic your current stance is??

You mean, possibly summoning enough self-patience to find out if Romo can take his game (e.g. lead the team to an NFL championship) beyond his 39th career game not unlike another Dallas quarterback???

Oh.. If you know me at all then you'll know there's plenty of blame from here to blanket every figurehead on the coaching staff. This isn't about the coaches though. We're discussing the QB that should lead us back to the big dance...

I'm willing to wait for Romo to pull an Elway but that doesn't mean I will spend 24/7 with my nose in his shorts. I'll leave that to you lovely sniffers. He's just as open to constructive criticism as the next guy and I will continue to hold the perceived field general to a higher standard than everyone else.

This season will tell the true story. For the benefit of the sniffers, I hope it's a positive one.

Not necessarily. Romo isn't on a Cowboys fan timetable.

For those who believe they're in some sort of control concerning outcomes beyond their ability, I pity their grasp on reality.

I'm very interested in knowing what Jerry Jones has already decided about Romo's evaluation at season's end.

Ok Mr. word placer... Let me say it once again, this season will provide much clarity to a blurry situation. That doesn't mean Jerry does anything... & I think you're intelligent enough to know this.

I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that Jerry Jones has the final say concerning Romo and it doesn't matter one iota how anyone else grades Romo's performance this season.

Someone has to point out that a private's evaluation of Romo in '09 has zero bearing on what will happen in 2010 and beyond.

 Let me say once more, this season will tell a real story and by season's end we'll all (incl Jerry) will know exactly what we have in our field general going forward. Take that as you will Cap'n.

By season's end, Jerry Jones will evaluate Romo's performance on his own terms. So, if Romo doesn't happen to measure up to your standards, regardless of how accurate your particular grade may be, please remember that. Or don't. Your choice.

Do you just like to have the last word? :) Here, take the last word. We're going in circles.

Well, I guess it would be all but impossible for you to have your nose in his shorts, with your head so firmly lodged up your own anal orifice...

Wow, you sure do think a lot of yourself...

Maybe some day, I'll understand why... to date, though, I'm less than impressed...

You would probably have been one of those Cowboys fans calling for Troy Aikman to be replaced after the 1990 season...

ROTFLMAO... this from the guy who has made 28 of the last 70 posts in this thread...

If anybody is borderline DESPERATE to get the "last word", it's you...

For the record, yeah, I do rather like getting the last word... and I generally do, unless my antagonist commits the cardinal sin of boring me...
