Good. I was wondering when they would get one of these set up. Thanks WG.

so he's permanently paralyzed? how sad

he deserves more than a trust fund

Not real sure what else they can do other than send their best wishes and some money so that he and his family will be financially stable. I'm sure he's getting the best medical treatment available as it is.

should be some kind of worker's comp, instead of relying on donations

I'd bet a pretty good amount of money that he's never going to have to work again and that would have been the case before they ever set up a trust fund. People just wanted to help and they're going to allow people to do that.

In addition to the mountain of paperwork he has to get through to even see a peep of that money.

Insurance has probably already kicked in... Workers' Comp will take time. Paperwork will be a pain in the butt to deal with...Let alone all the legalese that he's about to go through.

I'm sure his immediate day-to-day finances has been affected.

There might very well be worker comp involved but that will take time.

The establishment of this trust fund is something I expected as soon as the news broke of his injury.

As for never working again, you don't think Jerry will take care of this? I do.

I have total confidence that Jerry will take care of Behm. Additionally, once Behm is able, there's no reason he can't come back to work for the Cowboys in some capacity (perhaps even at his old job) and thus not need as much help. He's paralyzed from the waist down ... he's not a vegetable.

Exactly. I'd imagine he'd want to get back to work as soon as possible to get some semblance of normalcy back to his life. I know I would.

I think he'll want to work, and Jerry will use him as a scout in some manner going forward.

I hope he will continue to work for the Cowboys in some capacity. I think he would like that. I know I would if I were in his shoes. You can't go from active contributor to unable to help at all and be satisfied. No man can do that.

I have a sneaking suspicion Rich Behm will be an inspirational story for fans and players for a long time.

I hope this season is dedicated to him.

I am not trying to be negative, but this is what I was thinking as well. I also believe Jerry would take care of him until his worker's comp kicks in.

Not to mention, I believe he would still be on the payroll since as a scout, his main job is to watch football games. Now getting to them and working out seating arrangements maybe more difficult, but he should still be able to continue his current job when he is able to.

I did see a quote from Marc Colombo saying something to that effect that they are gonna dedicate the season to Behm.

It was in an article from Sunday after Colombo went to visit him in the hospital.
