DMN Blog: Wade Phillips gives injury updates

Andre Gurode's ankle sprain and Ken Hamlin's groin strain kept both starters out of practice but coach Wade Phillips is not sure either will be able to practice Thursday.

"They both played with what they had," Phillips said. "Some of it's precautionary but we still want to see how they are tomorrow. I have a good feeling but I don't know."

Alan Ball took over the free safety snaps for Hamlin - not Patrick Watkins - in Wednesday's practice and Phillips said Cory Procter and Duke Preston split the work at center in Gurode's absence.

Phillips also said running back Felix Jones is no longer wearing the brace on his left knee. Jones wore the brace Sunday at Philadelphia after not wearing it in practice last week.

I hope gurode is ok. There is an awful big boy lining up across from the center sunday afternoon.

Hamlin played basically the whole game with his groin injury, you could see him favoring it, even after putting on the "compression Shorts". I would imagine hamlin will be fine.

I'm just glad Gurode's not out for the year. I would be very nervous if Proctor had to fill in for the rest of the year. If it's only one or two games I think we'll be fine.
