As I said then maybe that player needs to be replaced at the 1st chance. I don't see the fans needing motivation why should a player making millions need it. As for this is not that era? People have not changed that much and when Noll made that comment the next thing he did was start releasing players.

It won't happen in this era because of the money being involved with the game. Teams invest too much money into big named players for them to be doing that. There is a difference between then and now. Players were getting paid less and Salary cap. Scrubs these days get cut for not being motivated or playing up to par. If Romo came into camp unmotivated i doubt you would see him get cut.

This is a great opportunity for Wade to lead by example in more than just one way. If Wade came into camp $22,650 worth his own self I am sure it would go a long way with the players. In other words, Wade could stand to drop 50 lbs or so to demonstrate that he lives by the words he preaches, and that no one is exempt from the rules when the fines get handed out.
Whats ur avator from?it looks familiar,i have seen u on another board.

Coach is not playing the game. His job is to get the team ready that is what he is attempting to do.

So what? His "title" notwithstanding, he has no right to expect or demand discipline when he exhibits none himself. Jerry never should have brought him back.

I understand that but if I have to stay on top of a player constantly then he is not worth keeping. You start cutting players and that will wake up others and chances are your star players are not the ones lacking in motivation to be the best to begin with.

He has every right he is the HC period. Did Jimmy Johnson have a right to jump on guys or fine players? He was not some workout stud nor was BP. I understand you don't like Wade that fine but to say he has no right to get after players for coming in over weight or out of shape? Give me a break

He should have been doing this all along. Better late than never i guess.

Yeah, better late than never.

Also remember that this is an adjustment to how last season went down and how things needed to tighten up. The season before, they had one of the best records in Cowboy history and won the NFC East...so no major adjustments were made.

Like you said, better now than not at all.

And yet Wade is one of the fattest pigs in NFL history. Way to lead by example, tubbo.
Alot of coaches in the league look like Wade or at least look like they haven't hit the weight room personally in years. No sense in throwing tubs of lard his way without hitting a few other coaches along the way.

Again, you're paying waaay too much reverence to his job title--something his own players never did and never will. They'll just roll their eyes or pay the fine. Lardo would be better off screaming at them for a change than hypocritically telling them to lose weight.

I clearly said "one of the fattest." I'm in error? And yes, if Andy Reid is handing out weight fines, he too should hang his gut in shame.

I guess I don't see the need in pointing it out when it has little to do with his coaching ability, whatever you may feel about it.

Shoot Parcells was always known for being in the gym and that didn't really seem to help him.

So you think Reid's players can report as fat as they want without punishment?

No, I'm saying that a non-obese person in Philly's front office should be handing out these fines. I'm sure they have one or two employees who fit that description. Same thing at VR.

Then a vast majority of coaches in the NFL are hypocrites because many of them are also over weight and yet expect the players on the team to be in shape, player are not going to roll their eyes because their coach told them to get in shape most have played for coaches who were old or over weight since they have put on a uniform.

This ain't high school. Don't expect professionals to pay you any heed when you're not walking the walk yourself. Just because Wade has a whistle around his neck doesn't make this any less of a joke. What's next? Jerry's gonna ban bad toupees?

No it is not high school but coaches do not play the game this is about a stupid of a comment as I have seen. Players are paid to play in order to play to your best you need to be in shape the Coach does not play and even in the NFL most HC are not in the best of shape but then they don't play the game their job is to prepaid a team to be able to play. It is not that hard to understand or at least it should not be.

I got it you don't like him fine but this argument is lame

Once again, I am not against weight fines (duh), but they shouldn't be coming from a man who might have to be buried in a piano crate. That's not asking too much.

Coaches aren't expected to play four quarters and go against finely tuned athletes. They also don't ran the fourty in less than 4.6 seconds, or lift 225 pounds twenty times, etc...... Should they not expect those things from the players they draft since they can't do it themselves?

So a coach who is not very agile should not drill his players to become more agile? He is the coach not the player they did not hire him for his physical ability the players know that they are not looking at him as a fellow player. The ideal that players would roll their eyes because he wants them in camp in shape and at the recommended weight the staff has determined is pure non sense.
