Terry Glenn's return to practice is set for today, and the team is expected to take a wait-and-see approach with his recovery.

One thing that is clear is that if the team didn't think he could successfully return he'd already be on injured reserve. For now, it's considered a day-to-day situation (as in, Glenn's status will be monitored and assessed daily) and no timetable has been set. But teammates are encouraged by the player's attitude.

"I heard he was looking good," fellow WR Terrell Owens said. "It’s probably the third or fourth week he’s been out running. I haven’t really kept up with the progresss, but from what I hear, he’s doing well."

Glenn's surgeries, on Aug. 1 and Sept. 13, didn't come without risk on the player's part.

What the receiver is hoping is that the reward will be a Super Bowl ring. And the other guys in the locker room know that Glenn can help them get there.

"Another deep threat," Owens said. "It’ll be another guy for a defensive teams to contend with. Everyone knows the impact Terry Glenn (can have) and once he gets out there and gets his feet underneath him, I’m sure he’ll be back to his old self."

WR Terry Glenn returned to practice, as promised, but was in shorts, a shirt and a ballcap, rather than the shorts-and-shells his teammates wore. The only thing we saw Glenn take a part in was passing lines, running a bunch of different routes and testing his right knee in cutting and breaking.

The only problem we saw was a single drop. But the truth is, running through individuals is hardly an indicator of a player's readiness to return from injury. Glenn did have a compression sock covering his right leg.

Also out for this one was CB Terence Newman. Coach Wade Phillips said Monday that Newman was being "checked out." The corner was off in the corner of the fieldhouse riding an exercise bike.

Apparently, he isn't in shells...Just shirt and shorts, isn't going through a regular pratice, just some drills, running, cutting and testing his knee in passing lines
