How about a followup question asking Wade what he plans on doing to get his team fired up and ready to play? I'm sure he wouldn't have given much of a response but he has a big task ahead to get this team in the right mental state to win a playoff game.

I don't believe these types of questions are usually asked on Sunday press conferences. But they are asked the following day because they are usually a little bit longer and more in depth. I wouldn't be surprised if he got the tough questions tomorrow.

this game was 100% meaningless to Dallas

the hand wringing over this loss on this board tonight is nothing short of comical

did anyone actually expect Dallas with NOTHING to play for and the Commanders with everything to play for to result in a Dallas win? or even Dallas coming out and busting their ***? and if so...why? I only wanted no injuires...nothing else mattered. nothing

Amen...how much intensity does one expect from a team that sees the coaches wisely keeping everything totally vanilla. Might have been a better game even without gameplanning against another team, but against a divisional opponent that knows you inside and out, you have to gameplan and do the X's and O's thing with them, making adjustments from the previous game and having wrinkles ready...this would have been a dumb move on our part...better to save those for the playoff games, but it makes it hard for players to take it totally seriously when they know as we all do what the deal is....again, you'll see an entirely different team in two weeks, assuming we're healthy at the key positions.

The thing that bothers me the most about this (and it's a BIG thing) is the fact that you just can't turn intensity on and off. You have it or you don't.
.

Yes you can. It goes hand-in-hand with giving a rat's you-know-what about the game at hand.

And it has nothing to do with professionalism.

Wayne I only expected was that they occasionally looked like they were playing like a playoff team. Nobody got seriously injured is a good thing. Playing like they were in the first day of summer camp was not exactly encouraging.

But what's important now is that they know they better be playing like there is no tomorrow or otherwise they will find there is no tomorrow.

as far as the defense goes, when we have newman back along with ratliff we are going to be much better. missing your best d-linemen and top corner hurts and it showed today.

not only will having them back help, but we've been playing very vanilla the past couple of weeks and i know phillips will pull out all stops come playoff time. i expect this defense to come up big in the playoffs.

"The word for us was uninspired," Wade Phillips said. "It shows you when one team is fired up and the other one isn't. Basically, I didn't get our team ready to play."

Added Tony Romo: "You saw what happens out there when one team plays with that much emotion and the other one really doesn’t. Obviously, we didn't match their intensity level, and that's the story."

Sounds right.
Hey Wade, watch the Indy game and see how championship teams act.

The O-line certainly didn't play with intensity. They were horrid.

Had to be. Because MBIII was definitely lights out.

Is anyone dropped for five-yard losses more than JJ?

No. And I hope we are smart enough to replace him this offseason.

If you're going to play that way, then why even play the starters at all? Just start as many 2nd stringers as possible and get out of their. The result would've been the same.
