SI.com believes that it's Marion "The Barbarian" Barber. He was No. 14 in the site's rankings of the 25 toughest athletes.
What makes him tough: His nicknames - The Beast, Marion The Barbarian - tell you all you need to know about his punishing style. His determination in short-yardage situations brings to mind a truck with four-wheel drive and gas pedal stuck to the floor. Shuckin', divin', piledrivin', spinnin' and stiff-armin' his way through tacklers, it takes a nation of millions of bring this guy down.

Defining moment: On first and 20 against the Patriots last October, Barber took a handoff on his own five yard line and was promptly pushed back into the Cowboys' end zone. Seemingly buried, he furiously escaped and eluded six tacklers behind the goal line before sprinting to safety up the right side. When the dust settled, some observers were calling it the greatest two-yard gain in NFL history.
Old school match: Sam "Bam" Cunningham, the Patriots' cannonball short yardage specialist from 1973-82.
No doubt that Barber is a tough dude, but I'm not sure he's even the toughest in the offensive huddle. My vote would go to RT Marc Colombo, a brawler who held his own against Green Bay Pro Bowler Aaron Kampman despite suffering an ankle injury that would have sidelined most players.

I'm still amazed that Barbers greatest moment comes after he did everything wrong to start the play.

I can understand Romo's play, he had the ball snapped over his head. Barber did everything wrong, and gets glorified? No wonder our team lost in playoffs.

When I saw that, I thought immediately about something BP had said "Sometimes a give up is a good play" -- It takes toughness to fight every tackle -- however it takes some mental toughness to understand when fighting tackles is the wrong move.

I'll give you all of them but Silva, he's in a weak division, and has yet to be really tested. ;)

Not to mention playing with a broken jaw a couple of years ago.

Didn't Witten break his jaw in a game against the Cardinals in his rookie season and miss the rest of the game...but the dude was in there the next week with his jaw wired shut.
That right there is enough for me.
Witten gets my vote.

What do you think Barber should have done?

What are Bob Sanders and Steve Smith doing on there?

Mayweather is obviously one of the best boxers of all time, but tough? Pavlik's a good choice. That guy defines toughness.

I seem to remember either Parcells or another player saying Columbo is the baddest dude on the team and that noone would cross him.

I believe it is probably true. Either him or Canty.

There is more in life than just being physically tough. Tiger is mentally tougher than anyone in sports today, period. When the pressure is on, only Micheal Jordan would be his rival. And presently, second is wayyyyy back there.

Silva and Fedor are mentally tough by staying calm when somebody is trying to punch you in your face
