I want to start by Thanking Roy Publically for giving my son the ball from his first touchdown as a Cowboy, he hasn't let the ball go yet. Thanks Roy!

I really don't have much to say looking back on the game. Sunday's game was a much needed victory and we played like it. Yeah sure we have a few loose screws to tighten up but thats why you practice. We actually saw a flash of how good our defense can be when we don't beat ourselves with mistakes. On offense we need to get healty for one and we need to be able to run the football. On special teams we did better but we have to be consistant. It's really not much more on my end to talk about.

Come out tonight to Fox Sports Grill and talk Cowboys with starting safety and captain Keith Davis, Ben, Skin, and myself at 7pm.

He had 31 touches.

If he has anymore than that he might die from exhaustion during the game.

Barber got the ball plenty yesterday. The line was even somewhat better, despite the poor average in the running game. But it looked to me like no one in Tampa respected the passing game. They loaded up opn the run and short passes, and Barber was still able to carry the team.

I wish we could've got Teshard some touches.

We better give Felix more touches down the stretch just for Barbers sake.

He had 31 touches but 25 carries, the rest were passes.

I thought he was underutilized in the first half. It's not quanity of carries but where the carries are at.

There were a couple of third downs yesterday while MB was "on a roll" playing with fire where I thought he'd be a better option than the pass. The drive we settled for a field goal for instance. It was a 3rd and 5 or 3rd and 6 and instead of giving the ball to MB or Choice it was an incomplete pass. Instead of 6 points and a PAT we settled for 3. Fortunately the next drive we scored to end the half with 10 points...

...That TD pass to Roy Williams to close the half is another example where I thought a run was a better option. If not to MB, then to Choice. LUCKILY it was maybe BJ's best throw of the day.

Jason Garrett seems to have a pass first mentality.

FYI, 25 carries is a GOOD thing.

Getting Barber the ball wasn't a problem yesterday. PERIOD.

You're right. We should have run it with seconds left in the half and no time outs! Brilliant!:bang2:

I never said it wasn't. I just pointed out that he did not run 31 times.

Granted. Because we won.

But, typically, 71 yards on the ground in a game is a bad thing...

There were oppertunities to gain first downs w/ Barber or Choice where, instead, we went for the pass.

As you pointed out, all is well and happy because we came away with a W but establishing the run has been a problem with this offense all season ......

Remember the loss to Washington where Felix Jones didnt get a single carry and MB got 8?

Even if we had lost it wouldn't be because Barber didn't get enough touches. 31 is more than plenty. Really, I'd rather him be around 20-25 TOTAL touches. We have other players that need touches too (Witten, TO, Roy, and Felix when he's healthy).

Our lack of establishing the run yesterday had nothing to do with the number of rushes Barber had. It had to do with us facing one of the best run defenses in the league and not having a QB that could keep a defense honest with the deep ball.

I can definitely agree with that! Even if it means giving Choice the ball a few times per game until Jones is back.

I had no problems with the total amount of touches MB got as a whole yesterday. I just think there were lost oppertunities in the running game, in the first half in particular, that left me scratching my head.

I was really disappointed we didn't get the ball to Choice when he was in there.

The dude is solid. He doesn't have to be a "Superstar" to get touches. Give him the ball. It'll keep the defense honest and give Barber a rest.
