I know a lot of you have been concerned with they play of Roy Williams. I hope you guys have been watching closely because the guy is on fire. Roy was already one of the games best but to have him step up to the table and play the way he is playing under the kind of fire he's been under. I have to take my hat off to the guy because he has done nothing but improve his already Pro Bowl abilities. As many little things you guys have been pointing about our play I urge you to go take a look at 38. I'm really surprise no one has said anything about his play.

I also have a question for you, should the preseason be cut down? Perhaps 2- 3 games maybe in the case of you all the fans would that make the season to short?

May I suggest that instead of 4 preseason games, we have 10 preseason game and instead of a regular season, we have just a straight up elimination (pretty much go straight into the playoffs) until only one team is left standing. That way it's a perfect season or nothing!

i agree, Roy has been playing really well so far in preseason.. the best thing is that he is being aggressive and bringing some pain again..

just in the Houston game alone, he stopped the RB dead in his tracks at least 3 times with a good hard pop.. some nice hits.. and he absolutely blew up an O-Lineman that was trying to block him-- Roy literally knocked him over.. i think Roy's gonna have a great year and i think the hits are comin' back!

I'd like to see it shortened for injury's sake. BUT......the vets only play, realistically, about 1 full game. I don't think you could evaluate 60-70 players in 2 games.

Its real simple ...... some posters have invested so much in "calling out Roy" that they can never go back to being fans ...... they will always hope he fails so they can say "See, I was right"

It is real simple, he gets way more praise than deserved and way to much blame he doesn't deserve. One of the things that makes the forum fun.

#31 or #38....does not matter to me...I was never as down on the guy as some people were...is he perfect? No! But who is? If he could cover like a CB he would not be a S. His job is to make anyone who touches a ball in his vicinity wish they hadn't!

What was Tuna's stat. You typically replace 20% [not sure if that is right] of your team. So you are really evaluating less. Because you pretty much know what, at least 40 to 45 of that will make the team. So a shortened pre-season by a game or two, would not hurt. Or at least from a fan perspective. Coaches would not agree, as they want that time to evaluate, try things out.

I'm not. The guys who don't think he's crap don't feel it necessary to point out he's been playing well.

The guys who can't stand him have nothing to say until he gives them something to criticize him for. Or given enough time, as has been seen many times on this forum, he'll get blamed even though it's not on him.

Part one was a blog entry about the defense getting a fast start.. It's posted somewhere.

I am pulling for roy, We need him to be good this year.

However in his last 50 games he has 4.5 tackles for a loss. He needs to have more than that this season imo. We need him to make an impact on 1st and 2nd down. Help get this team in position to use its strength on third down. The secondary and the pass rush.

The same argument applies here for those who do poorly. It's only preseason. Having said that, however, I truly hope that his preseason form continues. Although I've complained about his coverage ability recently, that was mainly because he no longer intimidated and scared receivers to limit throwing in his area. If he gets back to making receivers short arm receptions then I will be happy. If he does this AND improves his coverage, well then, I will get down on my knees and sing hallelujah! Keep going Roy. Show that your new found prowess isn't a fluke.
