Babe Laufenberg: How many tickets are you gonna have to buy for the game Sunday?

Byron Jones: Only two. My brother is coming down and one of his friends is coming down.

Babe Laufenberg: What about your parents? They're not going to the game?

Byron Jones: Yeah, they're coming to the game, but we get two complimentary tickets. Luckily. Those tickets are expensive.

welcome to the life of a fan, Byron. And we dont typically have $millions to drop on tickets either.

He's still a heck of a lot younger than Newman was when we drafted him.

Weeden was 28 when drafted by the Browns. Just thought I would mention that.

However, Roger Stauback was also 28 when he started for the Cowboys.
He had a 4 year Navy service commitment before he could play.
I believe Chad Hennongs had a 4 or 5 years commitment in the Air Force, but met some goals, or something and was eligible for an early honorable discharge but still around mid 20's I think.
Had so many hours flying time as a pilot from the Gulf War IIRC. So after a few more years serving, he could leave early.

The snap count stats shows that he's been playing Dime corner and backup safety, not the nickel corner (that's Patmon).

Henning was 27 when he came to the cowboys, and he got out in 4 years out of a 8 year initial commitment because of budget cuts after the Gulf War. He completed 9 years in the reserve after he was discharged from active service.

Before you know it, we'll be having Marinelli on the stand being questioned on whether he ordered Code Red. lol

Rob: We live in a world that has birthdays, and those having said birthdays need to be punched! Whose gonna do it? You?! You, Roger Goodel?!! I have a greater responsibility than you could possibly fathom. You weep for Byron Jones and curse the Dallas Cowboys. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know, That Jone’s beating, while tragic, probably builds team chemistry and wins games. And my existence while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, wins games! You don’t want the truth because deep down in places that you don’t talk about in board meetings, you want me in that lockerroom, you need me in that lockerroom! We use phrases like, “Hah!”, and “We Dem Boys!”. We use these phrases as the backbone of a season spent defending the goal line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a league and a man whose very revenues rise under the blanket of the good defenses I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide them. I would rather you just said thank-you, and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest you pick up some pads and suit up! Either way, I don’t give a damn what you think about my morale building exercises!
