Why him?
He's a six-time Pro Bowl selection who became the first NFL player in history with six consecutive 1,300-yard seasons. He also became the fastest player to reach 10,000 receiving yards (in 116 games) in league history.
Holt is a deep threat the Rams use to beat teams on a consistent basis. Holt is tied for fifth in catches in the NFC and is 15th in receiving yards.

How he does it
He has tremendous speed and quickness.
Holt is very good at getting free against press coverage so he can use that speed to get down field, especially on deep pass plays. Holt uses his quickness to find open areas in zone coverage and with his excellent catching ability, he's not afraid to catch balls in the middle of the field. If Holt gets too much space to catch a pass, he has elusiveness that allows him to run past defensive backs.
How to stop him
Stronger and taller cornerbacks can muscle him off routes in man-to-man coverage. If Holt gets down the sidelines and looks back for the ball, taller cornerbacks, with inside position, can prevent him from catching the pass. On running plays, teams head toward him because Holt doesn't contain blocks for very long and that can wear him down.
What about him
Holt's brother, Terrence, was drafted by the Detroit Lions in 2003. ... He was born in Greensboro, N.C. and attended N.C. State. He was a first team All-American his senior year and was also the ACC's Player of the Year. ... Created a foundation in memory of his mother, Ojetta Holt-Shoffner, to fight cancer.
