Revising the Cowboys Top 40

In 1999, we had a panel of experts put together a list of the 40 most memorable Cowboys games.
Since then, your heroes have gone through a couple coaches and won exactly zero playoff games. Do any games this millenium deserve to crack the top 40? You can refresh your memory here.
I'll throw out a few that should be considered.

Sept. 15, 2003: Cowboys 35, Giants 32 (OT) -- Bill Parcells' first win with the Cowboys was a wild one on Monday night. The Cowboys blew a 15-point fourth-quarter lead, fell behind with 14 seconds left and tied it after a fantastic pass-and-catch by the Ring of Honor-bound tandem of Quincy Carter and Antonio Bryant. (Perhaps I got a little carried away there.) Billy Cundiff won it in OT with his record-tying seventh field goal.

Dec. 10, 2006: Saints 42, Cowboys 17: Sean Payton embarrassed his old boss to end talk about the Cowboys being Super Bowl contenders. This was the beginning of the end of the Bill Parcells era.

Jan. 6, 2007: Seahawks 21, Cowboys 20: A slippery K ball leaves a sour taste in Tony Romo's mouth after an excellent first season as a starter. The Cowboys' playoff win drought continues, and Bill Parcells' tenure ends.

Why is this guy facinated with the losses? Here are some great wins in that time span.

The 2004 MNF win over Seattle.

The 2005 MNF win over the Eagles.

The 2006 last second FG win over the Giants.

Tony Romo's first start in 2006 against the Panthers.

And i will never forget that game for that reason AND the HORRIBLE call on Woody for Un-neccesary roughness...that call cost us the game...and spoiled my fun of watching Emmitt set the record.......ugh, it still pisses me off 5 years later!!!:bang2:

My vote is the 1999 Season Opener

Sept. 12, 1999
at Jack Kent Cooke Stadium
W, 41-35 (OT)
The Dan Snyder era in Washington began with a dull thud on opening day in 1999 as the Commanders suffered a heartbreaking loss to the Cowboys. The Commanders, with newly acquired quarterback Brad Johnson starting his first game in D.C., powered the home team to what appeared to be an insurmountable 35-14 lead heading into the final quarter. But the Commanders suffered a fourth-quarter collapse of appalling proportions as the Cowboys scored 21 fourth-quarter points to send the game into overtime, where Rocket Ismail broke the Commanders' backs, and hearts, with a 76-yard touchdown reception just four minutes into the extra session.

Are you sure you aren't a Commander fan cause I don't remember that game the same way you described. I remember the Cowboys coming out clicking on all fours and quickly taking a commanding lead both offensively and defensively before all of a sudden we lost our momentum. Skins came from behind and quickly put up several TDs on the board before one of our greatest comebacks ever when Emmitt Smith score a TD leaving us needing 2 more to tie the game. As so often happened in the 90s, our great triplets showed again how awesome they were when Aikman took them down the field ending up our scoring drive with an Aikman to Irvin TD. We stopped the Skins cold and on our next drive it was another Aikman to Irvin TD--tieing the game and forcing it into overtime. Skins got the ball but unable to do anything and we got it deep in our own territory. Emmitt didn't do much a play and I think he even fumbled it before Moose recovered. Finally, I think it was 3rd and something and Aikman faked a handoff but tossed it about 50 yards on the money down field to our new WR Rocket Ishmail (sp?) who had his finest day ever in the NFL and who got it on the run for our game winning TD. What a great game--truly a memorable Cowboy come from behind victory and which I'm sure brought back many unpleasant memories for them in the 90s.

Unfortunatley that was best memory of 1999 since only 3 games or so later Michael Irvin suffered neck injury in Philly (in front of Philly fans who cheered while he laid injuried on their field) and his career was over.
