Bring up the Cowboys on other non football/sports related forums and you'd think it was still the 90's.....they still think Michael Irvin plays

Really? Josh Brent dude...

Since the Cowboys are perceived to be a bunch of criminals by uninformed fans around the country, it makes perfect sense to point out that the Cowboys have 14 incidents as opposed to Minnesota's 45 incidents, for example. We can draw whatever conclusions we want.

Mind boggling, right? He played for Dallas from 88 to 99, but has now been retired longer than he played for us.

It does say 14 former or current....
The link to the database is taking a long time from the article. And i'm about to head to the airport so can't see who is on the list as current / former.
Also Sam Hurd, his arrest was with the Bears, so who does he count against, or does he count for both teams?

Not trying to minimize the number, but there are other considerations.

I haven't heard that shtick in a minute and I live in DC. I just thought it was just a tad hypocritical for us to bask in this glory while choosing to ignore the elephant.

Vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated? Not a dui, not an assault, not drug bs...that charge usually usually makes one take a double take:eek:

all this posturing and feigned moral outrage is making me sick,,,

What moral outrage? We want to be holier than thou (initial take from that article), look at our own players...not an everyday infraction??? More like "we don't get to poke fun, but...14!"

I don't think anyone is actually ignoring the Brent incident, but taking a macro view of the NFL, the Cowboys players are a pretty well-behaved bunch in comparison to other teams. Granted the Brent incident was a pretty horrific incident, but it's not like we see guys lining up to sign an arrest blotter like other teams.

I think people should get their head out of the Cowboys muck every now and then and see some of the issues that other teams have to deal with. It won't make the Cowboys issues right, wrong, better, or worse, but at least you'll have a larger knowledge base with which to work with.

I am aware of our problem players in the NFL...but hear you otherwise. It was the RKG post (patting ourselves on the back) that fueled that counter.

Maybe you could break down the incidents by type and assign a grade or number to them such as
vehicular homicide - 10
rape - 9
assault - 8

and so on. Add them up and post the new results.

That way you can still make us look as bad as possible.

And as an added bonus, it might make you feel better if we moved into the top 10 instead of the bottom 10.
