I give them all kinds of hell over it. Had folks texting me after the Cowboys lost. "Man, you know I hate the Cowboys, but I really like that boy Dak. Wanted to see "him" win."

They got the blank stare.

I know that some people couldn't care less about poll methodology BUT here is the basis of this poll for anyone who may be interested:

Public Policy Polling surveyed 378 NFL fans on January 23rd and 24th. The margin of error is +/-5.0%. 80% of participants, selected through a list based sample, responded via the phone, while 20% of respondents who did not have landlines conducted the survey over the internet through an opt-in internet panel.

I'm interested in how the 378 interviewees were selected by geographic region, etc. Also, I wouldn't mind knowing why the "most favorite quarterback" choices were limited to Brady, Eli Manning, Newton, Prescott, Rodgers, Roethlisberger, Ryan, TEBOW and Wilson by name. [Edit: On second thought, that particular interview question may have been open instead of closed in which the question allowed personal interviewee choice instead of one from a pre-selected multiple choice offering] Anyhoo, here's a link to the survey (PDF format) for those interested:

I don't know how anyone could NOT like Dak. He plays/acts the right way, doesn't showboat, and is genuinely a good person. We got luck with this one.

From what I've seen, Prescott should fall solidly on everyone's Gotta Luv Him lists unless he does something incredibly stupid down the road. He doesn't strike me as the kind of person who doesn't learn from life experiences. Unfortunately some people scratch people like him off their lists annually monthly weekly daily hourly every other minute eventually for reasons that usually have neither anything to do with intelligence nor common sense. In fact, Prescott doesn't have to look far to see a perfect example of disdain brought on by public fickleness.

Hopefully, Prescott's career will someday make Brady green with envy. Life is filled with possibilities though. His career could mirror Marino's. His career could follow all types of paths. I just hope that some people will continue honestly liking him for who he is regardless of whatever path his career takes.

Why does everyone hate the Patriots so much? Other than "deflategate" (which was blown largely out of proportion by Goodell) they seem like a classy, perennially winning organization. Just wish they didn't collapse in those two super bowls to the giants..

I think it's kinda lame to hate a team just cause they're successful, just like when everyone despised us in the early 90s
