Its bit surprising Dez would let something small like that really get to him. I do hope he can stop sweating small things and focus on keeping his mind right thru whole season.
I like his competitive fire, but getting irritated by rival fans can be a psychological vulnerability.

It's comical that some in this thread criticized Dez for totally maintaining his composure.
Man some of you are truly odd. That's as nice as I can say it. Any competive person can understand how an annoying petty trash talker could really get on your nerves. Especially when trying to have a peaceful family dinner. It's disrespectful and most self respecting people don't enjoy being disrespected.
Guess where the criticism is coming from?
I was wondering what this was all about, cuz every media report on twitter made it out to be some big thing. Well, except for Tim MacMahon who just said Dez was rambling. lol
Hello Mama, I don't know if you heard the audio, but Dez was saying it in a lighthearted manner and as a competitor who was getting ready to play that woman's Saints in the next day or two.I'm glad Dez kept his composure and didn't say anything to the lady, but quite frankly he shouldn't care what some stupid Saints fan says.
I don't see that as small at all. Put yourself in his shoes. Have you ever played organized sports? Have you ever had your opponent talk smack to you? I think you saying this is "small stuff" is humungous seeing that your rooting interest is suppose to be in the Cowboys. I don't get it. But then again, when I step back and look at it with a third eye, maybe I do.Its bit surprising Dez would let something small like that really get to him. Thats the point, he didn't let it get to him and kept his composure and used it as fuel.
There was some sports athlete who once said something to the effect of, "If you let your emotions show in a game, you are vulnerable, because then your opponent knows when he has you frustrated or impatient."
I think the same thing applies to situations off the field as well. It simply is not worth it to let a rival fan get under your skin if you are a player. I am a big fan of athletes who simply, coldly, never let any heckling ever get to them.
This was what I was talking about in my Locker Room thread. He was very "eloquent" when he relayed the story from the locker room. It was if he was telling the story to one of his friends. As I listened .... it was a blast ... it was like I was sitting there with Dez as he told the story.
