Cowboys running back Joseph Randle has received deferred adjudication in connection to a shoplifting arrest in Frisco last fall.

If Randle stays out of trouble for the next 180 days, the class C misdemeanor theft charge will be dismissed.

“He’s just relieved and ready to move on and focus on training camp,” said his attorney, Steven Bell, who noted that Randle regretted the situation. “He’s a good young man.”

That is certainly good news. Hopefully more of our fan base will start to cut him some slack once that happens.

Truthfully, that was so idiotic that it doesn't deserve slack. Stealing underwear was probably the second dumbest thing I've ever heard of an NFL player doing. Making light of it and joking after getting arrested stealing underwear would still hold the number 1 spot. To show how epically stupid I think that is, JPP holds the number 3 spot (with 9 fingers).

I was never in the 'cut him this instant' camp, but really that's so stupid that it boggles the mind. Expecting to walk right out the front door with his contraband thong is like something an idiot would do while blind drunk, except he was sober.

Guessing the undies he stole must've been factory seconds . . . thus, no big deal?

If it had been one of us, we might still be looking out from between the bars -- lol.

deferred adjudication ... All right! I love it when technical legal terms are cheered by the fans. What I really wish is that players would stop making their legal troubles an issue when it comes to football. Play for the love of the game, and knock off the nonsense off the field, please!

Randle then told the judge that he prefers briefs.
