Gotta take off the rose colored glasses on these top 2 QB's........they are spread offense system QB's that just happen to be the best of a weak 2016 QB class, cannot overrate them into the top 5 of a draft. They are round one pick 17 on down in a normal year.....

This right here.

I like him but he's gonna be out next year if it's a significant knee injury as they said it was.

No way are we waiting for a first round pick in the Romo window.

I dint know Ramsey was hurt. I watched the game. He played the whole game. Did he get hurt on the bus home?

What if Goff is Gabbert and Lynch is Locker? Or Ponder? Or Weeden? Or Leinart? Or Quinn? Or any of the 30 other QB busts of the past few years.

I agree. We should spend it on a bust-free position like CB.

As a Baylor Alum watching a spread offense I support this statement. Spread offense QB's have a big learning curve as do many of the spread offense WR's. Maybe sitting for three years is exactly what these guys need, but I don't know enough about them at this point. I just started looking for comparisons with current/former NFL QB's. I've seen Alex Smith's name a couple of times as a comparison to Goff. I look forward to watching this evaluation play out. There may be other guys sitting there in the early 2nd round that are a better value.

If this team drafts a first round cornerback with a top 10 pick, I'll join your "We Hate Jerry" fan club :D

Wow that's a risky bet for you to be making sir.

There is definitely the chance that Jerry and company would do something like that.

No way Jerry drafts a CB 1st rd this late in Romo's career.

I agree I would not waste a 1st pick on any of those Qb. I highly doubt this coaching staff could develop one over the years. Deal with the backup QB in free agency or via trade and land Treadwell or Elliot for the first pick.

That's what I'm talking about. Let's get our QB. I'm going to think positive until that cornerback is announced with the 4th pick. Then I go full Alexander.

I feel like I know you well enough to say that won't happen :p

I sure hope not!

DE, DT, safety, RB, QB, WR, LB. Any of those except CB!

Note: I'd drop down to the teens for a safety, RB, LB, WR, or DT if I do not stay put and draft the QB or DE (Bosa).

I don't think you understand. That's not me doubting they will do it .. because you never know with them .. it's me saying I won't be happy if they do.

In other words, this isn't a bet :) @Risen Star should read this in case he was misunderstanding as well.

I'm not moving out of that 4th spot unless someone offers me a 1st next year, and or, my QB is off the board.

If we draft that corner I expect you to end up getting banned from here with your negativity.

Yeah, there are so many variables at play that it's pretty pointless to say definitively what you would do. Even during the draft we have no idea really what we would do since we are not privy to the interviews they conduct and the trade chatter that's taking place.

I'd like a QB at 4 but if I get a call from San Francisco offering a Griffin like bounty that changes things.

But it's 50/50 or better at most positions. It's about a 5 percent success rate at quarterback.

So then you never draft a QB? sorry I think when we get into a position as we are in with an older QB on the tail end with a top pick then you don't screw around. Yes later rd picks sometime pan out but most top QB come out of the 1st rd of drafts not all but again most do. Dallas has a chance to grab a top QB prospect I hope they do not screw up and pass on it. Just my view.

Houston took Clowny he was supposed to be great he is not and now wished they would have taken a top QB. All position can fail not just QB but considering how hard it is to find a top QB I think taking a chance on a top prospect at the position is worth the risk

You draft them when you're really confident you've got a special one. But those come along far too seldom.

What's worse is that the QBs coming out today are trained entirely wrong in college. They have to be rebuilt in the pros, and it takes time. Then, you're five years in, and you have to overpay somebody like Tannehill or Cousins when you still don't really know what you have.

Notice that the teams that draft quarterbacks tend to draft them over and over and over.

If Will McClay and his staff REALLY like Goff or Lynch, then take him absolutely. I love the idea of having the next franchise QB in house. But if they are really unsure, let somebody else take that risk.

This top 5 stinks, the QBs especially lackluster. I want a small trade down to 7.
