Good to hear that, I know he entered camp with some pretty lofty expectations and good to see he knows what to do about it. Get to work

Dare I say, RKG?

you can but some will not buy it. lol He is what Garrett talked about in wanting in a player which are guys who are dedicated to the game and to the team. Does not mean all players will be that RKG. it is really not a new idea Belicheck has done it for a long time, it does not always pan out that way with all players see Hernandez but they look for certain types of players

I see Lawrence coming on in a steady fashion. I think he'll have a solid career. Nothing earth shattering, but he'll be good if he stays healthy.

It would be very beneficial to Lawrence if he worked with Randy White on karate/hand fighting techniques. It's good to hear that he's going to a performance facility where he can work on his initial start off the snap - he consistently looked to be a step slow off the snap. His hand work needs work as well, and it will make him a much more complete player. If he can channel the same kind of hand work/rush he demonstrated on the fourth down strip sack against Matthew Stafford in the playoffs, the Cowboys may have their pass rusher.

I'd prefer he be in Dallas working in the team but maybe the CBA doesn't allow that yet.

What does RKG stand for again?

Well according to Garrett it means someone that isn't necessarilly a choir boy but one who has certain traits such as "relentless spirit," "loves the game," "attention to detail," and all manner of things he has laid out.

The major disconnect for many fans especially older fans is the standard that Landry had in perpetuating teh boy scout image. Couple of things to that. First, Garrett never worked with Landry, Shramm, or those Cowboys. He was at Princeton when his father was a scout under Landry for those last two years. Second, what we know now about particular players such as Hollywood Henderson and Duane Thomas, indicates taht the previous perception was just a facade. Landry was more pragmatic then given credit for.

I get that your question was rhetorical but the point you are getting at that RKG is meaningless is false.

Dallas Cowboys defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence didn’t take much downtime after the team’s playoff run ended at Green Bay.

Lawrence, the Cowboys’ second-round pick in 2014 out of Boise State, tweeted Monday that starting this morning he’d be in Florida to start his offseason training at Bommarito Performance Systems in Miami.

Lawrence tweeted: “Back to my roots in Florida to train. Starting from scratch. Got to get after … [visit site to read more]

RKG may not mean much to some and even looked at as a joke by some, but I don't think RKG is looked at as a joke by Garrett, getting guys who are willing to put in the work and the effort without having to be on them constantly is important. Guys who put the team before themselves is important and those are the players Garrett wants. This notion of the RKG is not something he invented Belicheck has done it for a long time now. You don't see the flashy star players but you see a team who is well disciplined and willing to go out and put it on the line for their team.
