We could use a good run-stuffing DT. The skins at times had some rushing success last night. Maybe if Marinelli is more confident stopping the run w/ a prototype 1-tech(which he was before his accident) he can then afford to put more players in coverage to help our struggling secondary. I'm not expecting much, but still hoping for the best:)

what they actually need is a penetrating DT. Hayden and Crawford have been pretty good this year against run from DT. Dallas needs disruptors along DL. Melton finally showed that yesterday. If you give me Josh Brent from 2012 - I pair him with Melton on passing downs and let them push that pocket into QB face and let Lawrence or Mincey clean up with a sack.

IRVING — This week, Josh Brent will take the field with his teammates. The Cowboys defensive tackle, who is suspended the first 10 games of the season, is now permitted to engage in all team activities except travel and participation in games.

“Anticipate him doing football, but tomorrow we’re going to have more of a jog through mode in practice, so probably he’ll work on the side tomorrow just to get more physical work and then work back into practice next week,” Cowboys coach Jason Garrett said.

Dallas travels Monday to London, where the Cowboys will face Jacksonville on Nov. 9. Brent is allowed to go with them.

Earlier this year, Brent was sentenced to 180 days in jail after he was convicted of intoxication manslaughter for the death of practice squad linebacker Jerry Brown Jr. in a December 2012 crash. Brent was released in June and spent the final 45 days of his sentence in a treatment facility. He rejoined the Cowboys on Sept. 29 and has attended team meetings ever since. He has also done conditioning.

“He’s done a good job of working to get his weight down, but that weight has to continue to come down,” Garrett said. “We really have hurdles that you have to go over with guys that are coming back from injury or guys who have been away. It’s working on the side, getting yourself where you can do metabolics, which is simulation of playing football, and then you go into practice, you’re limited and then you do more extensive work.”

Speaking of DT.......after having a strong game last week, T.McClain was as invisible as Escobar was on offense
*****
Pretty sure I saw Melton (69) at RDE on one passing down in the 4th quarter.....Marinelli looking for pass rush there over Spencer or Selvie.
