We really should be scouring the junkyards for another backup QB. Yes it's slim pickings but they cannot be worse than Weeden. Heck I'd call Matt Hassleback if he is still registering a pulse.

Would you rather have Brandon Weeden or Josh Freeman?

We need this win against jacksonville. Have to take advantage of beating a much inferior team - If romo doesnt go any chance for vaughan ? Sounding desperate but after reading that article...

Dwayne Harris could outplay Weeden.

Caleb Hanie would be a better option than Weeden at this point. He knows the offense and has played in the NFL, albeit not at a high level.

"When you have that level of play from your QB, you quickly deduce 2 things. 1) There is no level of play calling that can compensate for that performance."

True. But wouldn't the coach gone up to him and told him that Beasley is open all the time and he should look for Beasley or Murray instead of forcing the ball down the field. Maybe the coaches did but they definitely should have.

We need to see more of Weeden to be able to say he can't play at all. If you only had one game to look at Romo then the Was game would make him look less than elite. I'd just as soon avoid seeing Weeden though; if I had my druthers.

I'm starting to think the 25 we have seen him in before coming here were actually a decent indication of his capability. The idea was that he didn't have a supporting cast, but that doesn't work here.

for what ever reason the past two weeks, there have been very few attempts in the middle of the field. It happened against Washington, and again this past game. You can clearly see it was open this past game, and last week as well. It's like we Garrett is calling the offense again. Last year most passes were outside the numbers........ Maybe Romo can't see over his OL, but Weeden is taller.

So does this confirm our defensive approach to stopping Colt McCoy was wrong? Or does this confirm that Bob Sturm is wrong? Because Colt McCoy performed just fine. Austin Davis...of the Rams...earlier this year...performed just fine. Or how about Matt Flynn last year....coming back from a 25 point defecit in the 2nd half...and I think he had just re-joined the Packers THAT WEEK!!! Heck even Kirk Cousins has put up monster numbers this year.

I think it is more a case of the system we run....is not conducive...for a backup QB to come in and have immediate success throwing the football! And I am not sure how good our passing game would look without Romo's escapability...or Dez SUPERIOR physical ability.

I would be incredibly shocked to find out that neither Linehan, Wade Wilson or Tony Romo did not encourage him to go through his progressions.

That was a very upsetting article. I can't seem to think that an NFL QB can be that clueless and not see a man so wide open as Beasley in the middle. If I were a coach after the 2nd half I would tell Weeden to look once at Bryant and throw it to someone else. Do not throw it to Bryant on 3rd downs.

Weeden needs to be told to look straight at Beasley and throw the ball. He may not be good enough to go through progression.

To me, Weeden is a purely fastball pitcher. He doesn't know any other pitches and doesn't see rest of the diamond either.

The more I've seen from the pitcher to QB retreads, I believe they can't handle the mental gymnastics in a short period. Being a QB means quick decisions and moving on. Being a pitcher means deep thinking with some time to do it. More meditative. I think these are mutually exclusive concepts.

not to mention as a pticher you have to believe in your arm. even if that means throwing it to tight spaces. Like a triple covered dez.

If I have to play Weedon again I would cut the field in half. He is to look at 2 designated receivers/RB. Throw to the open guy and that's it. He has been in the league for a few years. He has demonstrated lack of ability to scan the field and make good decisions so coaches will have to dumb it down for him.

He is like a pitcher. He is focused on home plate and that's it.

It's hard to blame the system when the QB ignored the open slot receiver, only saw one side of the field, kept staring down either Dez or Witten, and was wildly inaccurate.

He pretty much only throws to the right anyway.
