If he comes back, I hope it is not for more the $6M.

If he leaves to the Beagles I hope it is for more the $7M.

It would work for me either way.

I'll give them a 2016 draft pick

That's not a bad idea. But I doubt Minnesota goes for it. but then again.......2016 draft is loaded:grin:

Didn't say I'd give them a high 2016 draft pick.

;)

He also said a team offered him a first for Bradford.

Yeah. Sure.

He also said that he and Howie Roseman get along great. The same Howie Roseman that got personnel control wrested from him by Kelly and has moved his office out of the football wing of the building.

and much lesser OLine opening holes for him

...not giving up on DM just yet...this could just be an agent tactic, we should know more soon

It is and it's the right thing to do for some leverage, they have none right now. If the Cowboys really want Demarco, when he steps off the plane his (or his agent) phone should be ringing and it should be the Cowboys.

I have a feeling the phone will NOT be ringing.

If it is true that he called Chip to express interest in playing in his system, he massively cheapened himself. As if he says "Pay me anything just let me play with you please". And it also indicates that he seems to have problems with JG/SL system. That's not RKG to me to be honest

This is IF IT WAS TRUE of course..This is how I interpret it....tsk....tsk....tsk....

Although I find it hard to believe watching how DM conducted himself...but live and learn

What stinks is, even if he signs back with Dallas - this Philly talk is giving me a bad taste in my mouth (negotiation ploy or not).

Me too. Why does he have to go there? Why can't he just talk with them on the phone. I'm not feeling this.

This. Hopefully the Cowboys don't cave.

i would seriously doubt just because it's the eagles the cowboys would cave. but lets look at the eagles:

1) move off arguable better / more consistent RB in shady.
2) take your up and coming qb who shows promise and trade him for the promise of a season ending injury
3) chase off your top 2 WRs
4) lose a vet DE (this is likely the least of their worries)
5) and now they want to bring in murray as a consolation prize to frank gore.

love me some murray. love what he's done. but all he'll really be able to do down there is drink gas and whiz on the ashes. i would *have* to think there are better teams that would offer murray the money he's after. if not, then we are truly in a RB depressed market. i know his has to take care of his family and kids and i wish him all the best...

but the eagles???

there's not enough soap in the world to get that funk off.

He also said a team offered him a first for Bradford.

Yeah. Sure.

Heard that and thought the same thing.....who would be dumb enough to offer them a #1 pick for Bradford?

Then I thought....the only team dumber in our division.....Washington

If Mariota drops to 5.....then I can see a scenerio where Philly/Washington conspire to swap picks and players....

Bradford ends up in DC......Mariota in Philly.....And some team will come barking for RG3....Washington recoups picks in the trade.

The way this crazy off season has started....I'm almost positive your gonna see something this insane.:omg:

Money makes for strange bed fellows and makes people do things you would not think they would do.

On the other hand, his first priority is to himself and his family and to do what's right for them. Most people would do the same thing, us fans bleed for the Boys, players understand it is a business and treat it as such.

When he can no longer perform the Boys or any other team will cut his butt in a second, this is a business and both side play it that way.

I just cannot see the Eagles signing both him and Matthews in this age of the Cap. I think that this is a stunt to put pressure on JJ and Stephen. They will not bite.

If DeMarco flies back to Dallas this afternoon without a contract, this exercise just might be over. Time to kiss and make up with Murray and get this over with.

forgot they also signed matthews. from what i recall from him he's a backup runner at best. when he's had time in SD he just didn't do that well and i had him in 3 different years of FFL. always disappointed in his results but yea, this isn't fantasy football. however, i still think murray would outclass matthews by a longshot. both have injurys haunting them and now their qb can show them how to PROPERLY get injured.

Cowboys officials have been informed that running back DeMarco Murray will fly to Philadelphia Thursday to meet with the Eagles, leaving his return to the club in serious doubt.

This unexpected twist came after Murray placed a call to Philadelphia coach Chip Kelly to solicit interest. A source said the Cowboys were informed of Murray’s intent to visit the Eagles late Wednesday evening.

Murray led the NFL in rushing and set a single-season franchise record with 1,845 yards in 2014. Head coach Jason Garrett said Murray was as responsible as any individual for establishing the mindset that allowed the team to break free from the shackles of 8-8 in each of the previous three seasons.

Murray was allowed to hit the free agent market because he’s convinced his value is greater than what the Cowboys are willing to pay. The club had no intention of negotiating against themselves.

That no longer appears to be the case. Philadelphia’s interest has escalated to the point where Murray now has leverage.

Oakland, and to a lesser degree Jacksonville, were also in contact with Murray’s representatives throughout the day. But his trip to Philadelphia establishes the Eagles as the frontrunner for his services.

It’s unclear how much Philadelphia will be willing to pay since it signed Ryan Mathews to a three-year, $11.5 million contract earlier in the day and also has Darren Sproles on the roster. But if the Cowboys don’t want to lose Murray to a division rival, it’s clear they must exceed their previous offers.

He called Chip? That says it all.

It will be fun there Murray. No proven QB. No double team commanding WR. And run a play ever 20 seconds. Enjoy.

They could have both Mathews and Murray for less then they where paying Shady.

I hope it's not.

Tired of this game. If you want to get paid more, go to Oakland or Jacksonville. And not win anything.

And this tactic of kissing up to a division rival is beyond 'negotiations', it's insulting.

I'm pulling my offer and moving on at this point. Go get paid to lose or sign for less money with a division rival and get clobbered.
