Reading the tea leaves, I think DeMarco feels slighted by Jerry for all he did for the team last year. He may even have
a bitterness concerning the situation. Many people feel a need to strike back at the team that slighted them and this
might be his way to do it. I don't think it will work out for him but, he probably feels he'll get even twice a year.

Best of luck to him. I can't await to see Marinelli's defense going after the ball with him handling it.

Murray's a good RB but he's not an all time great. Not worried one bit about the Eagles. It's how the Cowboys replace him that concerns me. Murray's overplayed his hand in this. If the Eagles offered him 6 M as some have reported and he takes it then it was personal and not about the money. Goodbye Murray and good riddance. That's a slap to every fan who ever rooted for you.

Chip Kelly's RB offense has had pretty good success against the Cowboys over the last couple of years. I think DeMarco will have problems
unless Kelly's offensive line gets much better.

It will cause a lot of heartburn if he signs with the Eagles, but that will certainly set the Cowboys' sights on getting a running back in a pretty stacked draft. They need to get to work on McClain and some of these defensive linemen though, because that gives Dallas one less high pick to spend on that side of the ball.

i keep hearing he called the eagles and i've not yet looked it up. part of me doesn't want to, part of me hopes it's not true.

all of me would be disappointed if he did.

i know it's a business but he has an agent who, if anyone, should have called. if it's a ploy,it's not a good one cause many cowboys fans will have a hard time getting over it (hell crayton dropped 1 pass and it haunted him forever) and the next fumble he may just wanna head to the lockerroom and hibernate. ok, we're not likely to throw batteries at him or bottles, he's got that coming it sounds like. whatever is going on it is beyond my control and not worth much of an emotional investment in the end so i'll just move along now.

but philly??? gonna need a crapload of old spice for xmas...

I definitely get your point and there will definitely be some residual effects/hard feelings.

But would you make a call or get on a plane for $4M over 4 years?

Heck I might get on the plane even if it was not a direct flight for that money.

But I do understand it might cause some issues.

And cutting their second best lineman (Herremans) doesn't help that at all.

I turn around and sign Hardy immediately. At least get the pass rush dilemma solved going into the draft.

Yeah, it's just a classless maneuver. And then to talk up the Sam Bradford connection and what great buddies they were, it's just too much for me. It's one thing to negotiate, I can respect that. This blatant public pandering is just disrespectful and low class.

Again, I pull my offer and move on.

well it could be he just knows he will make more $$$ elsewhere and what's important to him is familiarity in bradford. it damn sure won't be the winning tradition or obvious winner they're now building, that's for sure. but whatever the reason, i've moved on at this point and wish him well in the end.

but that's still some stank he'll never be able to wash off.

I wouldn't sign Hardy if he only wanted a case of Dorito chips to sign. If we actually sign him, it will end up really bad and remember I told you so.

I agree with you. I think DeMarco will get some money but, his career might not end up as well as it could have.

Especially in Philly. I don't see too many of their players doing especially well since Kelly came to town. They're either getting cut, traded, or not re-signed.

i'd have my agent call and keep things like that private. as a player i would never make that call myself. you have your agent to buffer such things and this takes all of that away.

would i push to double my money even if it meant playing in philly?

can i pick ANY other team? at least the skins can win in scrub seasons...

in the end i have no ill will to him for doing what he needs to do to maximize his earnings in this usually short lived career. more power to him.

he just could have done it so much differently and not crap a nuke on the bridges here.

I'll remember. But remember I said it will help fix our anemic pass rush too.
