Two Tony Romo injuries later and the Dallas Cowboys are staring right in the face of some major quarterback problems this year.

After the 2-0 start. the team went a combined 0-7 with Brandon Weeden and Matt Cassel at the helm. Romo gloriously came back from an injury to lead the team to a win over the Miami Dolphins and then was knocked out of the Thanksgiving Day game against the Carolina Panthers.

At 3-8, the Cowboys are somehow still in the division race, but the reality of missing the playoffs is rising.

So what does Jerry Jones & Co. do? They could draft a quarterback. Mike Florek has five of college football's top prospects right here.

This awful division has kept us stuck without a coach for half a decade now. I keep hearing how we are only 2 games back...we are bleeping 3-8!!!! it is like in 2011,12 and 13 when I heard we were a game away from winning the division! LOL, not we were 8 and 8!

Ryan Fitzpatrick is a guy I would love to bring in. There are a few appealing names on there for a backup position(3 to be exact) but I highly doubt either would accept a backup position if they did see the market.

To be honest given a full offseason to learn the offense, Matt Cassel will probably be a good back up. The results as far as wins was the same with Weeden, but Cassel actually looks like he knows what he's doing back there and if he had a better grib of the offense, likely wins 2-3 games. But if we have a chance at a QB of the future we should take advantage of it.

No thanks. Let's draft one for the future.

Definitely the route I go. Bring back Cassel if you want, but the draft choice needs to happen now rather than in 2017 after Romo breaks his collarbone for the fourth time.

So were gonna HOPE Romo makes it healthy through a season for the first time since 2012 instead of planning for the future?

I printed this article out and placed it on the back of the toilet as emergency TP.

What did it for you? The idiotic inclusion of T.J. Yates?

Charlie Whitehurst?

Michael Vick?

Sam Bradford?

I go with....how about just drafting a QB in the 1st or 2nd round [only if we get Elliot at RB in the 1st].

Suggestion for DMN writers.....write an article about how we MUST draft a QB.....

You're probably right. But we still need to get a young guy in the building who can hopefully take over one day(1-2 years)

Please draft a qb.

I can see us after the draft is concluded having Jones issue a statement like this:

“We would have liked to have drafted a quarterback, but at the same token, we didn’t think at any given time that we should pass at the player that was there, even with the quarterbacks available."

LOL, Jerry: "we had Lynch and Goff highly rated, but at pick number four, we thought trading our second and third round pick to move to the third slot and select the CB was a better move for us. Our scouts really believe he is the next Deion Sanders." " Since we traded our 2nd and 3rd, with the 4th round pick we went with the RT, he never started at Western Missouri Tech AT&T due to injures, but coming out of high school he was highly rated, and with 5 years of NFL training we see him as a possible 10 year back up."

The Cowboys foundation is mud.

Doesn't matter who the quarterback is.

Frankly..

Just drafting a QB doesn't solve the problem.

Remember..Garrett is the HC and has fallen completely flat in my opinion when it comes to judging QBs.

Weeden was his choice..remember..?

And Kitna and Orton.

He couldn't figure it out then and I doubt it now.

And Romo has said he wants in on selecting his successor and that is crazier yet.

So I think no matter what we do..there is an undercurrent with this team that remains that ultimately we can't make the right decision regardless.
