:thumbdown:I hate the Commanders...the tougher, the better. The Cowboys can handle the best...

Goose danced around the draft question. There's a hit from the lower round of the draft every year, but does a team consistently draft em? Maybe Ron Wolf did it two decades ago, but anyone else?

Their dline is still a little suspect but their secondary is good. Their passing game is going to be good but they run game is still a question mark.

The NFC East is theirs, really? I guess there's no need for us to even show up, it's been decided. Thank you Rick Gosselin.

I'm hoping that I can see most of the pre Season games. I think I'll enjoy watching this group of 'rooks' adjust to the NFL.

I mean, the East is all but a dumpster fire of a division and I'm not quite certain how the Commanders have put that much distance between themselves and everyone else. No one is scaring anyone else in a group could finish 1-4 in just about any order.

The 'Skins were good enough to win the East last year and have improved this year. They'll still need to prove it, though. It won't be any cakewalk.

I'm continually amazed at how the Gosselins of the world blithely overlook the fact that Romo and Dez barely played last year. So the Commanders won the division last year.. Think that might have had more to do with the Cowboys injuries than a powerhouse Skids team??? They were better than than NY and Philthy, but the Cowboys would have run away with the division last year if Romo and Dez had been healthy.

I think the Skids did make some good moves, though, and will be better this year than last.

And in previous years with a healthy Romo and Bryant, only one year was not a .500-ish year.

What I find so odd right now is that the Cowboys are trying to go back to the 12-4 formula that got them the one outlier season and more than half the fan base is complaining that it is the wrong move.

I concur. I'm looking forward to seeing how the new talent reacts. I don't think we'll see Zeke much in the preseason but much more of the other healthy guys. Dak Prescott in particular will have my attention.

Elliott may not have much of a choice if McFadden pulls a hamstring or something as usual. Prescott will be one to watch of course, I have a feeling he will play streetball against reserves to the point people start thinking he is the answer.

The RB corps gives us several options rather than risking Elliott in a preseason game. I doubt Dak does as you say. He is being coached to play a certain way. We wants to put what he has learned on tape to be evaluated, not play street ball.

If he is half a competitor, he plays his rear end off in preseason since with just a little bit of success, he is the backup instead of Moore. If he plays it conservative to put "what he has learned on tape" for other teams, then that is selling himself short. And when I say streetball, I am talking improv plays when the time calls for it. Romo did the same thing his first preseason and while it drove the coaches crazy, it showed them part of his character.
