Gosselin: If Cowboys make playoffs, here's who I think is the best matchup for them

Columnist Rick Gosselin held a chat on Monday. Here are some highlights.
What are the odds that the one year the Cowboys are good, 11-5 might not be enough to get in the playoffs. If that happens, would people (media) still consider it a successful season?
By winning last night, the Cowboys took control of the division. Win out, and you don't worry about missing the playoffs. I doubt there'd be much criticism if the Cowboys went 11-5 and missed the playoffs. The celebration already began when they won their ninth game. That yanked them from that downward spiral of mediocrity. That made this a successful season. Everything else becomes gravy...
Who is a better matchup Detroit or Arizona?
Arizona is down to its third quarterback. Detroit's quarterback rallied the Lions from big fourth-quarter deficits in both 2011 and 2013 to beat the Cowboys. Who would you rather face?
Looks like this year will be just like the last 3, last game win or go home, for the Cowboys. Obviously playing much better this year but situation likely the same. But doesn't this just prove/validate that they've actually been in the playoffs each of the last 3 years....if the last game of the season is win or go home, isn't that a de facto playoff game?
I know Jerry Jones would like you to believe they've been in the playoffs each of the last three years. But that's like telling TCU they are a part of the national championship playoff in the Peach Bowl. That kind of talk is a bit far-fetched.
