It would but with Garretts play book and his handcuffing I think we'd still have a top 5 pick for a while.
Good point!

They'll be gone before #4? I guess someone is trading up then.
Kind of a moot point, both will probably be off the board before the 4th pick.
That said, I don't think Lynch or Goff are an "Elway" anyway.
I'll be the first one to say it, but I think there is a very good chance both quarterbacks will be there.
Tennessee will take Tunsil. He is hands down the best prospect in this draft by a very wide margin. He is a day 1 NFL ready LT.
I can't think of any scenario where Cleveland passes on Bosa, particularly given how they have bombed continuously drafting QB's high. Bosa is a local kid and a fabulous talent.
I see San Diego potentially going after Treadwell or Ramsey, both are definitely needs.
So, if it falls this way, which I am considering more and more to be highly possible, who do you go with, Goff or Lynch? This might also be the very best chance for Dallas to really get a great deal in a trade back.
With the Titans zeroing in on Tunsil and being a team that never trades, only Cleveland and Chargers are in front of us. Don't see both QBs going back to back with Bosa sitting there
He is only the best defensive player in the entire draft and being compared to Jared Allen
I don't see him lasting to pick 4, so one of the QBs should be there
I doubt it, but we'll see.
Not going to be militant on a stance this early in the process, it is simply not reasonable.
I am torn between drafting the QB heir apparent if rated this high on our board or drafting the BPA that coincides with a strategy without consideration of the QB position (assuming FA move for decent back up..I know..yikes).
A trade could be made if the QB is not a consideration and a kings ransom could be acquired.
Though, usually you want that potential Blue Chip prospect at pick #4.
As the process continues it should narrow down the possibilities in terms of evaluation and then of course draft day will be fun as always!
Love the fact we draft early in subsequent rounds save our trades and comp picks, should be able to really help build this roster.
We have to keep in mind, regardless of our own personal pet cats or evaluations, the Cowboys are capricious and have their own strategy and evaluation methods.
It is rare to pick top 5 but they don't have to go qb. They'll have plenty of top 5 picks after romo is done in a year or 2.

All I get out of that is it's a total crap shoot. Draft a guy in the top 5 and he sucks, you are screwed for a long time. And there's a 50-50 chance he will suck.
Brees 2nd round sat for a year
Brady 6th round sat for a year
Rodgers 24th overall sat for 3 years
Favre 2nd round sat for a year
Russell Wilson 3rd round
Joe Flacco 18th overall
Roethlesburger 11th overall
Warner FA
All not drafted in the top 10 but have SB rings.
Keep in mind that the Titans have an ownership in flux situation as well as a new front office (still not hired - Ruston Webster was fired this year) and possibly a new coaching staff, though it looks like Mularkey will stay as head coach. I wouldn't feel confident predicting what they would be looking at.
Not advocating, but would a swap with SF for Kaepernick and their pick be something they should consider?
50-50 is a great odd,i would run to the bank if was Jerry if he was picking a qb in the top 5,
PS-nobody is a real deal.can you promise me Bosa will be real deal? how bout Ramsey? Hargreaves?.
Aaron Curry was considered a "can't miss prospect" and many considered him the most talented one in the draft.
I agree with you. If a quarterback has a 50/50 shot of being reasonably close to what you think he will be, I take those odds everyday.
